villager70 Posted January 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Hi fellow cruisers. This will be our first Carnival cruise out of new terminal. Is the parking in a garage or lot? Do they have a assigned area for priority , FTTF and do you go through security line first ? The luggage area when returning is it the airport conveyer type or all luggage on floor area. Thanks in advance for your time and responses. We have been on a few cruises recently and if we can answer any questions give us a line. carrieluvsgreg Posted January 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2014 When you say new, are you talking about a new terminal in port canaveral or when the ship is relocated to NOLA in April? We sailed on the dream last April, we weren't platinum yet, but I clearly remember seeing the VIFP check in room/area (we were set to be platinum on our next cruise, so I was dreaming a bit...) I am not sure if FTTF was separate or not... As far as conveyors for luggage, I'm pretty sure that was a port where we had that... I could be getting confused, but I'm pretty sure it was port canaveral... As far as parking, I'm afraid I don't know, we never park at the port. Bob & Nancy The Villages Florida I can partially answer your questions. It's cheaper to park at Park and Cruise, about $8 a day. It's at exit 152 off the 528. Leave the car there, they transport you to your terminal door luggage and all. Parking at the port or elsewhere now covers 8 days. My last cruise was on Ecstasy, we went through security, then got split off if you are platinum. On departure, our luggage was not on a conveyor, bags on tables or floor in you assigned number area. fuddrules Posted January 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Don't know with Parking at PC, I alway have parked elsewhere. For check in Drop check-in bags with porters. When you cross under the bridge and approach the terminal, the far right hand door has a large sign for priority check in. Once through that door you'll get your boarding pass and ID checked by security then you'll put your carry on bags through the scanners. After that follow the agents to a dedicated priority check in counter. After getting your S&S cards, the Diam/Plat have their own "room" with drinks and snacks. FTTT has a staging area outside the priority room where they wait (they don't mix the two groups) From there the Dia/Plat will be escorted up the escalators to a final holding area. Once they are done, FTTF will follow. After this, you'll walk the plank to the ship and first "ding" Edited January 13, 2014 by fuddrules
ScootsMom Posted January 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Here's the website for parking that RuthlessBoss was referring to http://www.parkcruise.com I believe it's exit 52 off 528. Enjoy your cruise. :) See you on board.

jcearth Posted January 13, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Parking at the port is $15 per day - for a 7 day cruise, you pay $120 (they charge an extra day) - it is in a garage right next to the terminal. From my memory, there were not separate security lines for priority (if there were, I missed them). Once you cleared security, FTTF had it own area to the left, and beyond that was the Platinum/Diamond lounge. Platinum/Diamonds were called first to board, and went up the escalators to the staging area. Following that were the FTTF people. Wedding parties are also in there somewhere, but I can't remember the order.
jcearth Posted January 13, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Also, upon debarkation, luggage is laid out on the floor by Zone number, prior to entering customs.

The luggage area when returning is it the airport conveyer type or all luggage on floor area. Just off the Dream Saturday. We are platinum, and were directed to a shorter security line. Past security, and directed to a large desk outside the platinum/diamond lounge. Checked in quickly, and sat down. Had water and chips, but they also had the same snacks for everyone outside. After waiting a while in the comfy seats, they called the Diamonds to line up, and Platinum after them. (I thought FTTF was in same room with us?) Up the escalators, and packed like sardines into another seating area with plain metal chairs. Very minimal space for carry-on luggage. Sat there for another hour, before they let us onto the Dream. Negative. Just the upper crust in that room, unless of course, you slip past the goalie, which wouldn't be too hard.

Bob & Nancy The Villages Florida Yes about a new terminal, heard about it. Port Canaveral has some aggressive plans going, and also deepening the channel. I heard they were going to widen it some. I just hope our locals will come up with some excursions for people to enjoy while here. One can go the space center, but that's not enough and not of interest to all. SkyMaster Posted January 15, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 15, 2014 I too, have cruised out of Port Canaveral several times, and I too, would highly suggest parking at an alternative lot, instead of paying the $15 per day, plus an extra day. We've used "ParkCruise" 5 or 6 times, and always had excellent service, while paying about 50% of the price charged at the port. Frankly, I think it's a bit easier as well, since you don't have to deal with the traffic dropping luggage, and getting into the garage. It's a "win-win" situation IMO. micro yaya Posted January 15, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 15, 2014 we have parked and stayed at the Radisson for years, after all is said and done the room for the night costs us around $30.00. it gives us an extra day of vacation, and we love the shuttle, no bother. the hotel is really nice too love the people who work there, heated pool music by the pool bar at night, can't go wrong
