Booking Second Cabin last minute

I'm taking a girl's getaway cruise with two friends. We're currently 60 days out. Due to budget restrictions one of the girls we decided to attempt to go three to a room. I've cruised several times before with my partner, and don't usually spend much time in the cabin, so I think it'll be ok, besides competition for the bathroom.

HOWEVER... has anybody had luck picking up a second room cheap at the very last minute, or even on embarkation day?

Agree. Each cruise is totally different- in terms of sales and occupancy. No way to predict.

Plus, most cruise lines will still charge the double occupancy rate to your friend who gets the room solo. So it will be a healthy bite, not a great savings.

I would book a separate room now, if you need it.

Have you thought of a cabin up grade? It might be cheaper than a single room.

Some cruise lines have a discount for the third PAX in a cabin.
