9-29-16 Thursday Weigh-In..Last Weigh-IN Of September.

As you weigh this last September day

October is a few days away

Then the wonderful Holidays begin

With all the temptations to start again

October Holloween candy day.. Don't buy till day before

Leftovers you give away or a in drawer you store

Thanksgiving a day of family and friends turkey and pie

If you eat right and less on the couch you wouldn't have to lie

Christmas Eve and Day is when we want everyone to enjoy so much

Gifts, food, desserts and drinks we always have a lot for dinner and lunch

So in these three months do as you've been doing in losing weight

Then on the Holiday Days enjoy but try to eat straight

So we have to plan ahead for our health for the end of the year

Because January 1st 2017 is near

Love for all of us to lose weight in these three months we have to go

But at least staying the same will be better than a gain-so a gain is a no

Good morning!

I really tried to stay on course this week - and then Tuesday evening came. My singing group had a "sweets" party with every possible sweet you can think of. I couldn't resist and had a couple of treats. Then I forcefully took myself away from the table and left the room because I knew if I stayed there I'd overindulge.

This morning my self-deprivation (and it was hard to do) paid off - 185 pounds, down 2.5 from last week. Only 5 more pounds until I reach my goal weight. I hope to get there in a month or two though I know that Halloween and Thanksgiving will be very tough to get through without overdoing it.

I hope everyone had a successful week. As my own experience has shown, even if you have a bad week just stick with your program and you'll do better down the road.

I just found this thread while exploring CC and would like to join. My husband and I are going on a cruise to celebrate our 30th anniversary in 72 days and I would like to lose at least 15 of the 20 lbs I have put on since our last cruise.

I know it will be tough, but I'm pretty determined! I'm almost a week in and - so far - have been very committed!

I'm using the 4/3 diet (4 days of eating "normal" and 3 days of < 500 cals.)

Starting weight = 162.4

This is my highest weight in many years - brought on by stress and a lower activity level. My husband and I are runners, but we basically quite running last spring after he fell and injured his ankle during a marathon.

But we are back to running - so that should help a lot.

Glad to join y'all!

HI all!

Belle ~ nice thoughts & warning on overindulging during holidays.;)

Welcome to June & congrats to the losers.:D Looks like nobody gained this week. I am down 0.4 lbs so just 1 more to go to get back to what I was before the road trip.

Just 3 weeks now 'til my next cruise where I'll probably gain again & enjoy doing so.

June ~ I've heard of the 5/2 diet which I guess is similar. What do you eat on the low calorie days please?

shootr ~ I saw the last picture you posted but wasn't able to see the others on any of my devices.

Have a great week.

~ Jo ~ :)

The biggest thing I put on the training survey (and I was serious) was that there has to be a way to better accommodate people's eating needs. Only options all week were the best restaurants in St Louis - so everything normal was hugely unhealthy - and ridiculously tempting.

Normally I'm not one of those to foist my beliefs on a group - but this was ridiculous. Either put us in a hotel that isn't in a war zone and has options to walk to, or find something more middle of the road for the group.

The vegetarians had it the worst, and I probably would have done better if I had any will power - but when there's pizza's, 1/2lb burgers and fries, fried everything all around and dominating the menus - pretty sure I'm back up to 200 (+6)lbs...

So, something has to be done to get back after it. My solution:

A giant batch of mexican style shrimp cocktail,

Mmmm, now just sit for a few hours and I have 2-3 days of meals and snack food - extremely fresh, low calories, low salt, and a good balance of nutrients.

Awesome work Cruiserman-so close and glad the plateau is behind you and the scale is trending down again.

Welcome to the new folks and howdy to the regulars. Thanks again for your words of wisdom and encouragement Belle - appreciate it as always.

Where did the year go?

Cruiserman.. Congrats on the weight loss and so

close to GOAL! Plus you were good you only had a few treats

and stepped away. We all need to do that.

Diana.. I'm a Boo hoo like you:( but at least we didn't

Gain! Heat over but now cold weather up your way?

You go on a trip in Dec.? You have a land and river cruise?

June.. Welcome to this group. A cruise in 72 days for

30th. Congrats! Eating right and starting to run again

know you'll lose weight before your cruise!

Cruises42.. Join Diana and I. No gain is better than a gain.

Know it's hard when we're good and don't have a loss.

I have friends going on the first part of your b2b with you.

I loved my Med cruise when I went in June/July.

Jo.. Least it was a loss. Now three weeks to lose before your

next cruise. How Lucky you've been traveling a lot.

Isn't that what life is about! lol

shootr.. Traveling is so hard on the waist line especially

when you don't have many choices. Plus when like most of us

don't have a big willpower at these times. Know you'll

get back on track in no time. Well you already am with

the shrimp.

I've got a cruise planned to in Nov. b2b Mexico and Hawaii

and I want to lose just keep staying the same. Know some

is because of stress. Things left out of trust, need lawyer,

paperwork, more forms, spend money to get money. Crazy!

Hate it.. don't want to do it. Need a break! Need a cruise..

Doesn't that sound like the best medicine? I think so! :) LOL

Where are all the new and old people from before and last week?

WE MISS YOU ALL! :(

Enjoy your weekend and week everyone!

Last Saturday I reached my goal of running a km in under 4 minutes. I weighed in at 219 after that run....total loss of 81lbs. I was on top of the world!

This past week is a warning to all...it can all turn for the worst in the blink of an eye! I left on Sunday for a work conference in Nashville. During the next 4 days, I did no exercise besides walking, and I completely went off my eating and sleeping routine. Meat, meat and more meat is what I ate, and by the end I was not feeling great....that rhyme is an understatement! On day 3 I made the mistake of having a 2nd piece of chocolate cake...half way through my head started pounding and I felt a bad vibe going through my system. On day 4, I had Popeyes chicken for lunch in the airport (first time and last). I again had the same symptoms as the previous day. When I got home at midnight, I got on the scale. I actually knew what it would show....I was able to feel it in my clothes.....230lbs [emoji33]. I knew that this number would drop, but it had been 3 months since I had seen such a high fluctuation...and it only took 4 days to get back there. On Thursday it was down to 227, and after a good run today, it was at 224. With the Jewish holidays starting tomorrow, I think it will be a good 2 weeks before I get myself down to where I was (assuming I do enough exercise). Lesson learned...it was obviously not smart to over indulge, but my body showed me that it can no longer tolerate the abuse I used to put it through.

To my body: I am sorry, please forgive me! [emoji200]

Thanks for the welcome, Jo! Yes 4/3 is very similar - I just added a day for quicker weight loss. Low cal days are usually a yogurt, small salad and small bag of popcorn. This past week was hard because It has been a very long time since I have experienced actual hunger. But I can tell that each day is getting easier. We'll see..."

shootr: Is that dish a cold shrimp salad? Or did you cook it?

I find that stress is like the anti-diet! - lol - I wish it was easier to eliminate stress - but that is hard to control.

What an awesome time!!! I'd be proud of that too!!!

Yes, it's cold - I "cheat" and just get bags of pre-cooked tiny shrimps - and the Rotel is seasoned well (little more salt than I care for).

Once it sits for 4-6 hours the flavors really come together and a big batch like that has about 700 calories - but enough for 3-4 meals.
