scotslizzy Posted November 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2013 We will be staying at the Atlantic Spa Hotel for a couple of nights prior to our cruise. Looking at the websites for both these rests which one is the better ? Think we will only manage one special night eating as after the long haul flight we might not be able to do justice to two seafood dinners but rather just have a casual meal on our first night . Any thoughts? Cheers Scotslizzy
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2013 I cannot speak to Blue Moon Fish Cafe. What I can say is that we have eaten at Truluck's and love it. We love seafood and we really enjoy their food, and service. Keith
royalcruz Posted November 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Trulucks is a very nice chain at Galleria Mall and is very close to your hotel, about a mile. The service is very professional and the decor is like a fine steakhouse. They have a great happy hour in the bar on drinks and appetizers. They also have a dinner-for-2 menu that is good value. There is often live music in the lounge that you can enjoy in the dining room. Blue Moon is very nice, a favorite among locals. It's about 5 miles from your hotel. It is on the intracoastal and the food is gourmet and excellent. They have 2 for 1 lunch Mon-Fri. This place is more unique and gives you a taste of upscale Fort Lauderdale. It's not stuffy, more like bustling and trendy. Whichever you choose, make reservations and be patient if there is still a wait. jackdiamond Posted November 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2013 I am not certain, but I believe that Trulucks has an all you can eat Stone crab special on Monday nights.

I can't remember what night it is but they do run a stone crab special, either all you can eat or a dollar each or something like that.

If only Trulucks was a dollar each or something like that!! The all you can eat stone crabs are on Monday nights. This year it's around $69 per person for all you can eat. You get a soup or salad and then each person who gets it picks a side dish and that's unlimited. (You can pick the crab mac and cheese as a side which is around $16 anyway.) scotslizzy Posted November 5, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Thanks for your comments. We arrive on a Wednesday so I am thinking Thursday for our special dinner so is it necessary to book for that night or is it just at the weekends you need to book ahead ? royalcruz Posted November 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Both places are busier on weekends, but reservations are advisable every night of the week in Fort Lauderdale. The locals eat out a lot and fortunately both of these restaurants accept reservations.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted November 5, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Both Naples and Miami are very busy on Monday nights this time of year so if you really want the stone crab night, I would suggest booking in advance.
