Sea Pass Cards Royal Carribean

How do these work. Do we need to put money on them which we will then debit. Or is it more like a credit card that we can pay off with a credit card at the end of our cruise?

Would paying it off with a credit card incur charges?

Am at a bit of a loss currency wise. We are English so use UK pounds, which I know we can use in Gibraltar. However, we will need Euros for the other stops on our cruise. So we will bring some Euros too.

Are we going to need physical dollars? As far as I can work out we wont, but don't want to get caught out!

You'll be asked to give a credit card number or a cash deposit . They will charge your card in USD and your CC will do the conversation(best way).

There shouldn't be any extra charges on your card other then what you accutually spent on board.

Do your check in on line On The rccl website using your booking ref

You HAVE to give a credit card for your on board charges and then whilst cruising everything gets charged to your sea pass card and debited prior to disembarking

A lot easier to input info on line before you turn up at Southampton. As it takes a while !! And to prevent a lot of huffing and puffing behind you in the queue i would really suggest you input it all at home .

All you then Have to do is print your boarding passes on line and baggage labels .

If you get stuck you can message me back . We are also going to gib

What date you going ?

To be honest in all my years if cruising

I don't too extra on room service and bar as service is added already . But I hear some people do .

Personally the only time I've ever used cash on board was when we used to tip at the end if the cruise in envelopes .

Take euros with you . I wouldn't worry about dollars ( from one Brit to another!)

This seems like a really good forum! I am a bit of a forum addict, least I'm addicted to my Midwifery forum anyway! I'm sure this won't be our last cruise.

This is of course assuming that hubby doesn't get sea sick for two weeks!

Go to your docs

Say you get really bad seasickness . Nothing helps

And can he give you a stemetil prescription!!!

Also go to boots and get some ginger tablets and stugeron.

Where you from ?

He gets a bit car sick, we don't know if he will get sea sick. I have bought one packet of tablets, but might see if I can get something stronger just in case!

We come from near Rochester in Kent. Where are you from?

I thought this was the whole idea of pre paying. I'm British, we don't do tipping! Its a bit of a strange concept!

Since you have pre paid your tips, your waiters and cabin steward are taken care of.

When you purchase drinks, 15% is added to the bill for the bartenders.

When you order room service, they have not received anything regarding tips, so, it is a standard practice to tip them a couple of dollars when that service is provided.

We have no intention of gambling or money away in the casino. However we might be ordering room service. I'm sure that typing in euros must be ok. Our cruise is a Mediterranean one after all.

Just something I've learnt from researching our upcoming Royal cruise, if you connect your credit card to your sea pass account, you'll need to make sure you have approximately double what you are planning to spend on the card. Royal can place a "hold" on some of the money for each day, but will do a finalised "charge" separately. Depending on your bank, those incomplete "holds" may take a while to drop off - from a couple of days to even a few weeks. If your credit limit is small or you're close to the limit, you might be best paying your account in cash rather than linking the credit card.
