Hi

Looking for a pre and post cruise hotel in Ft Lauderdale. We are cruising on the Getaway out of Miami in Sept. We will be flying into Ft Lauderdale and picking up a rental car at the airport We are hoping to stay 1 night in Ft Lauderdale. We prefer a CLEAN, safe, quiet hotel on a nice beach (or a short walk to). Some of the hotels we are considering are:

Bahia Mar Fort Doubletree rate of $111

B Ocean Ft Lauderdale $114

Courtyard by Marriott $127

Embassy Suites $139

Hyatt Pier 66 $120

Being close to the cruiseport in Ft lauderdale is not necessary as we are driving to Miami the next morning and cruising from there. Which hotel do you think meets our needs? Any input would be great! Thanks!

Great rates for those hotels, must be going off season lol. We are planning to stay at the Bahia Mar for 2 nights pre-cruise. They have a bridge across the road to the beach, and since we will also have a car, they are easily accessible to other things we might want to do. The Courtyard Marriott is just up to the road a bit and looks nice and is probably an easier walk to more restaurants if that is important.

Those are great rates but you will also need to factor in the cost of parking which can be up to $25 a night. Check each hotel's website.

Embassy Suites and Pier 66 are not on/close to the beach (ES is about 2 miles away; Pier 66 is about 1 mile) so if being within a short walk of the beach is a criteria I would take them off your list.

If you aren't using the car except for the transfer to POM, I'd just cab to Bahia Mar. Book a room in the TOWER. Partial ocean, view facing south, gives you coast, beach and ocean views. We actually like it better than full ocean view. In the morning, there is a hertz rental desk there where you could pick up the car. There are other companies in the area too.

Cab to the hotel from FLL is around 17$ . You are in walking distance to lots of restaurants and across the street from the beach. Why pay for a rental and parking if just staying in town?

Wow! Great prices for these hotels, go with Courtyard Marriott n request oceanfront room high floor. Beach across the street n great Marina eatery place that serves paella n stone crab when in season..,just across from the hotel lobby!
