Grand Turk & Cacios - "Different"

Unique or different in what way?

Helicopter tour, perhaps?

Otherwise, it's beach or snorkeling. Or if you are divers, great diving.

2 to 4 golf carts or 2 jeeps or an ATV and drive around.

Sorry, mostly typical cruise port stuff.

We rented golf carts on our second trip there and had a lot of fun exploring the entire island and stopping at different beaches. We really enjoyed the beautiful beach at Governors Beach. I have a full review with tons of pictures in my signature line if you are interested.

It's also neat to head down to the conch graveyard and explore.

Thank you for ALL your responses.

It looks like renting a golf cart sounds good too. Can you give me an idea of how much they charge per golf chart, or person or what? Is it for so many hours? Do you just drive on your own, or do they give you a map to sort of give you an idea of what direction to go?

Yes, checking out the conch graveyard sounds great for me as well.

I was charged $60 for the golf cart for the entire day, as long as we wanted it. However, I believe their normal charge is $80 and I got a deal the day I was there...not sure why but that's what the owner had quoted me in email and I had my proof with me. You can go anywhere you want for as long as you want. They do have maps, but the island is super easy to navigate. I looked it up on google earth prior to going to get a better feel for the place and "know my way around". If you get lost, there's plenty of people that can direct you the right way. :)

Conch graveyard you can just walk down the beach to get to it or take the golf cart around and head to that end of the island as well.

Thanks for letting me know the price of the golf carts. So they probably carry about 4 people, is that right? If we split it $20 a piece for the whole day, that doesn't sound bad. Is there enough to see on the island, or is there a beach that we can stop at for a few hours with the golf cart, (you said it can be rented for the whole day for $80), and then take it back around/before the time is up? If so, what is the name of the beach?

We took the golf cart to the end of the island to check out the lighthouse. There's tons of wild donkeys all over the island as well and a lot at the lighthouse. They are friendly. Then we went off a beaten path (got the golf cart stuck in the sand...but we won't talk about that...it was quite funny actually) and then headed to BOHIO for a couple of hours and lunch. Then we headed to Governors Beach...stunningly beautiful beach! Look in my signature line and read the reviews I did on them and there's tons of pictures that might interest you.

There's another option of going in the opposite direction than what we went and you can head to the other side close to the port and go to the conch graveyard or if you are in to snorkeling there is supposed to be excellent snorkeling over that way as well.

Not sure which vendor everyone used for their golf cart, but we used Karib rentals - and the woman there refused to give my brother his $5 change (fee was $45, he only had a $50. She said she would give him the change upon the return of the cart, then refused when we got back...kept it for a "tip")

Never will we use them again. Very unpleasant experience.

It's a vendor called Wet Money. ;) WEBSITE

I emailed wetmoney about renting 3 golf carts in feb. for our cruise since we have a group of us. I received an email back from Jamal very quickly but it was just a short we can assist you, I then emailed him back to see if a deposit was needed and he said he would put my name down for 3 carts and it was cash payment that day. I never did ask how much because I saw on their site they charge 100 for the day. Should I asked to get a better rate or just go with thinking it will be 100 and not worry about it.

I emailed Wetmoney over a month ago and never got a response. I have since booked with Karib who were very quick and responsive to all my questions. Mixed reviews on here for both places. With Karib I have a receipt showing I made a deposit and for what and the amount. I like to have something "concrete" in hand so that worked for me!

I would personally ask for a discount since you are renting 3 golf carts. I thought they were very reasonable and was able to get a good deal on ours. I mean it doesn't hurt to ask right? All they can do is say no discounts and you are already prepared to pay the $100 each. It looks like their price has went up too. They use to be $80 to rent the golf cart and the cars were $100. The website now says $100 for either.

Mitsigirly, if/when you get a reply back, about a discount (one way or another) for the golf carts in Turks and Cacios, if you do, would you please let me know? We may have 8 people wanting to do this, and most of them are on a budget, so every little bit would help. :)

I think this is supposed to be directed at Scarlett? I'm not waiting on a reply or going there. I have already been there and rented them at a discounted rate. I was answering Scarlett saying she definitely should email them and ask for a discounted rate since she intends on renting 3 golf carts. ;)
