Just got off the phone with CCL and booked for this Saturday! Leaving on the Inspiration ...DH just agreed yesterday to a short 'gambling junket' cruise...and of course I didn't waste ANY time! Usually I make lists... pack and re-pack for weeks prior..this is just nuts! No time for docs just edocs I guess..don't know what time we're eating or what cabin but I don't care as long as we have a bed someplace.

Any info on the Inspiration would be much appreciated!

Thanks

I loved the Inspiration! I took my son last year and this year we are going again in June! The ship was wonderful and easy to get around. Food was wonderful also. This is the first cruise that I got into the pool! Grand Cayman was a very nice port and Cozumel I got ripped off by a taxi driver and my DS got attacked by an iguana that he was petting. The whole staff on the cruise was wonderful! You will enjoy her :D

You aren't crazy you're smart! I have done 3 cruises that were 1 week or less prior to leaving and the Inspiration was one of them. I had found out a friend of mine was going and I booked 3 days before with another firend of mine and surprised her. I had tol her I couldn't go when she told me she was going because I was just off a cruise two weeks prior LOL HAVE FUN!

We have been on the Inspiration once & enjoyed it & booked it again for this Nov. You'll have a ball. Sometimes the most impulsive trips are the most enjoyable. You don't set yourself up for failure.

You have a whole week, dont worry. We booked one last spring only 4 days ahead of time, no worries. We booked so late we were not on the manifest, but you can deal with that. You shouldnt even have to worry about that booked 6 days early.

When I convocated from university last april I made my sister come on her first cruise and we booked 10 days prior to sailing. It was so exciting to be just putting the books away and pulling out the passport and suitcases. It was wonderful. Yeah we paid much more for the airfare due to the last minute booking but it was worth it.

Im about 5 hours from Galveston. I booked last minute because my Dad had surgery that everyone was very worried about and had been put off until there was no choice and Im the only driver. I had to wait until he was discharged before I could book and Voyager only had 2 more cruises until it left for the rest of the year, so I grabbed it quick. It was either I couldnt do Voyager or do it last minute. We booked late Wednesday for a Sunday sailing. The only downside was I never got to know folks on the roll call which sounded like a fun group.

.....that Host Mach did not throw his 2 cents in yet about the Inspiration. He loves the ship, as do me and my son.

When you get on there, tell Felipe to do a happy dance for Bill and Logan!

;)

I have booked on Friday and sailed on Thrusday. No time to think about packing, etc. I prefer edocs anyway. I can print what I need and not have all this stuff lagging around the house.

I print my luggage tags, tape them and use nylon ties to attach them.

Like you, I normally make list (which I keep permentaly on my computer to print) check it, start buying stuff needed in advance, check the list again, pack, go over the list, repack and take some things out, go over the list, repack again removing a few things, till a week before. A week before, I call it quits, lock the suitcase, and leave it alone.

however on my last minute booking, i just threw a few things in a suitcase on monday, and made sure i had all my meds, etc on wednesday and we left thursday morning for the port.

Since you mention this as a gambling cruise...

We were on the Inspiration in January and think that the slots in the casino were noticably "tighter" and less rewarding than most other cruises we have been on.

Oh I hope you're wrong about the "tight slots"...just kidding...I don't plan on making a killing on the nickel slots anyway..DH likes some table games..and it's just a fun, relaxing way to spend a few days.

We went up to Hard Rock in Seminole a month or two ago and were very disappointed at the 'high minimums' required to play some machines.

As long as I can play for a few hours without having to constantly feed the machine I'm happy!

Heck no you're not crazy!!! Believe me, if I lived anywhere near a port I would be cruising MUCH more than I do now!!!!! With the crazy low prices out there now, I'm thinking just about every weekend I would be Nassau bound, LOL! Have a great time!!
