My mothers father brought her and one of her brothers to the US.He previously brought another daughter .He returned to Poland to be with his wife and other children.For some reason none of them came to the US to live.My father had two siblings who came on their own to the US as my father did when he was 17.Neither his parents or his other siblings ever came either.

May 5 is Yom HaShoah ,Holocaust Rememberance Day.Nancy Spielberg ,sister of Steven will be speaking at a LI Synagogue. I am going to be watching via Zoom.If I was physically able I would go in person .There will be survivors and family of survivors present.

My mother lost a sister in Auschwitz. My father lost a brother in another Concentation camp The group is definitely going to Warsaw.

The father of one of my friends also died 43 years ago while working on the 2nd.Avenue Subway project from a fall I don’t recall how old he was .

My granddaughter who is in college is going to Poland May 4 for a ten day trip with 19 other students and 3 Professors.She hopes to be able to make side trips to the city where my father grew up and to the city where my other grew up.

I have been posting on a nostalgia message board since 1999 still functioning .There was a story in a NYC magazine about the board and specifically about two of the regulars who post there.One of which was me.No problems there at all .The only thing they do not allow is cursing otherwise everything is permissible including political and religious posts.
