  1. We're limited to what we'll eat on the Haven menu, and i do wish they would consistently bring back a nightly special. Count me for not a huge fan of the lunch menu. For any other fellow non fans ... many times I've ordered from the room service menu for lunch and had my butler deliver it to the Haven Courtyard. I like the Greek Salad. Depending on the ship, it can be small (more like a side salad) so i might order a double portion in a single bowl.
  2. I'm more interested if Encore or Bliss will follow Joy's suit to make the H2 Deluxe Owner's Suites into 3 BRs instead of 2, sacrificing the Haven Library. I'm guessing no?
  3. So fun. We sailed Oasis of the Seas last fall and loved seeing our beloved Gem from the Concierge Lounge while we were in port in NJ. We could see the Statue of Liberty from where we were ported too. Cape Liberty is so easy to get to, i almost wish Norwegian had the foresight to claim it! @Radio, thanks for taking us along. Definitely following. Have fun!!
  4. 💯 Take time to get to know these people, and by all means, carry their cards with you around the ship. As an example, La Cucina gave us a hard time about taking a less than half eaten pizza back to our room. I was a bit surprised and innocently pulled out our butler's card and asked kindly, "oh do you need to call our Butler to come get it?" The server took our card and made arrangements with him to come get our leftovers for our planned late night feeding. (For the record, La Cucina was the only restaurant to give us a hard time. Others immediately knew exactly who our Butler was and called him with no pushback whatsoever. But i was glad to have his card handy in the one sitch i needed it). Our concierge was amazing too. We were on Getaway and wanted to go to Wasabi. He tried to call to let them know we were coming but they didn't answer. We went for a walk there anyway and they had an hour wait so we decided to wait back in the Haven. The concierge saw us come back and asked what happened. It was no big deal to us but he kept calling and got us at the Haven bar to let us know the hostess @ Wasabi was waiting for us when we were ready. If we've booked late or weren't finding the reservation times we've needed, one thing we've also done successfully was send an email to shoreside concierge and asked them to forward our requests to the concierge onboard. This has worked for us 2x. The onboard concierge had our reservations already cared for before we boarded. Have fun!
  5. Hi! And welcome to the good life! We've done one SC pre-rona and one after. We've been lucky to have 2 great Genies. We communicated with the first Genie through email and the 2nd through WhatsApp. Both worked well. Our Genie who used WA was great. She knew we didn't care to be bothered in the morning and so she would message us around 11am or so to say she hoped we were having a great day and to please let her know if we needed anything, to please contact her if we wanted lunch in our room, etc. (We LOVED our room and Tarah left it during the day. She figured this out quickly.) She always messaged us to ask if it was convenient to come visit us. We loved her so she was always welcome anytime. She would always act as Maitre D'for us as well I'm Amy specialty restaurant, unless we were in Coastal Kitchen, then she would just meet us there. Here is a tip: since this is your first SC cruise, make time with your family to fill the survey out together and have some fun with it. I find it a fun way to get pumped for your cruise, though repack relatively meaningless. But, this is more important: when your Genie reaches out via email, reply. I created a one page, bulleted Word doc to briefly describe what's important to us, what's not, foods we hate and love, must dos, must nots. Our Genie ate that up and took it to heart in ways i never imagined. She commented many times how helpful it was. Be sure to include allergies or dietary needs here. Also, your Genie will tell you to let him/her know how you want your fridge stocked. She didn't offer Blue Moon in her initial email but i know they have it on the ship, and it was no problem. She also arranged a bid red cooler full of drinks for us. I'm sure you'll appreciate the magic Genie elevator key on occasion as well. 😅 Enjoy!
  6. I agree, very difficult read but i think they said they are Sapphire. Using paragraphs probably would've gone a long way for readability. Funny because we were on Oasis end of September/beginning of October and were so disappointed in the night life (seriously, Sorrento's was the only happening spot at midnight AND the pizza was terrible to add insult to injury) that we booked Getaway while onboard the Oasis and we had an amazing time on a full ship during Thanksgiving week. Different strokes and all that.
  7. Nice that the info finally made its way to the CN folks onboard! When we were on Getaway over Thanksgiving, i had a discussion with the CN crew. They were still touting 4 years then. I asked why since i had 5CN certs in my account at the time, all with a '99 expiration. At the time, they didn't know if that was going to be a permanent change or was just for previously purchased ones that were limited because of lockdown. I did buy Haven certs onboard, and she said something to the effect, i guess we'll see what the expiration is once they hit your account. 😅 (The new ones also had a '99 expiration, not that i haven't used them already. 😁)
  8. Haha, pretty soon the standard package is only going to include Mad Dog 20/20. Your choice of flavors. For now....
  9. It's dry. I didn't think it sweet at all. I'm not a sweet wine/prosecco person either. I'd rather stick to water than Asti Spumante or Moscato and the only Reisling I'll drink is Dry. Agree on the Duckworth. The Haven bartender recommended that for Chops. It was very good.
  10. +1. Exactly our experience. Many complained about the aftertaste of the Pommery and much preferred the 66 Prosecco.
  11. We are recently off the Getaway and purchased some certs. I asked the CN team about the non-expiry dates as they were still touting the CN certs were still only good for 4 years. The rep started she was aware that currently held CN certs converted to non-expiry, but they hadn't received guidance on newly purchased certs. The certs i just purchased onboard (11/25/23) have hit my account, also with a 12/31/99 expiration date. If this is a permanent change, it's a great one!
  12. Another scenario: I don't think i would be that thrilled if we were in the Haven and the surprise guests weren't, but still expected to hang out all the time. But even with all other things being equal, it would really take a lot for me to show up and surprise someone. I'd REALLY, REALLY have to know they wanted us there, for sure.
  13. Just off the Getaway, and TBH, i preferred the 66 Prosecco to the Rose they offer. Several of us agreed the Rose Champagne offered on the P+ had an aftertaste. The 66 was a $2 upcharge to the regular package. As far as what brand it tastes like, i can't really say. Maybe Ca Furlan Prosecco? I drink that at home on occasion. I would say the 66 is on the same level (roughly 14/15$ a bottle retail).
