  1. On the Beyond, you MUST do your research and try to choose a quiet room. There are issues on this ship. You may want to bring ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones for sleeping. Sad. The ship is really nice. I would suggest you read some of the guest reviews and that will give you an idea of what to expect. Most cruisers dress nice casual like if you were going out to a nice restaurant back home. You no longer see many men in suits or tuxedos. Collars shirts and nice pants are fine for dinner but there are those who get dressy.
  2. For breakfast, there is an assortment of juices, coffee, tea and milk. For other meals, there is a machine that provides lemonade, fruit punch, and other noncarbonated sugary drinks. All free.
  3. If I have left over OBC, I split it among deserving staff who made my trip special. Go to Guest Relations to get a form and then have those deserving individuals add their names and employee numbers. I then write in the amounts and return the completed form to Guest Relations. Very simple.
  4. San Pellegrino is not included in the Classic Beverage Package either.
  5. No reservations are needed for Aqua Class cruisers to use the Thermal Suite. No fee. However, you will need reservations for the other spa services and pay fees. Included classes include yoga, fitness, etc. No fee. You will have a menu to choose from. I would not spend the money on the cabanas. Just go to the Solarium. Freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juices are available at breakfast in Blu.
  6. Bring along some noise canceling headphones just in case. Be prepared just in case.
  7. The roughest seas for us was the last full day of the trip heading to Victoria. The other portions were calm..
  8. You will find more families and a younger group on board. Definitely more energy and more beverages being consumed from my experience. When we travel during the Winter, there are some children on board. Quite noticeable during the Summer.
  9. $49.95 was the price. There are different packages available and the options are available with your stateroom attendant.
  10. My suggestion for what it is worth. Check out the availability of cabins in the Guarantee Aqua class category. If there are plenty of cabins available, then I would probably consider going for a Guarantee. You will more than likely be able to change your assigned location. However, if there are very few available, I would choose my own location in the Veranda category.
  11. On the Beyond and Ascent, the first show was at 7:30 pm. 8:30 would be a better time.
  12. There are many cabins on Deck 11 that I would avoid. I am sensitive to noise. Would you be happy under a gym? Under an aerobics room? Not for me. I would choose a room rather than risk being under one of those areas.
  13. Sailed in February and must say the ship's entertainment, food and service was excellent. The Captain was outstanding and down to earth. None of the self-promoting I had on another ship. Definitely will cruise again on the Ascent. Go for it!
  14. If I could pick one, it would be Murano. Great food and service. Our favorite dishes are the chateaubriand for 2 and the lobster Murano. You may also want to try their lunch offering but with a limited menu. Lawn Club Grill would be my second choice. More relaxed and more like bbq food. Enjoy!
  15. 10:45 pm by the pool on Ascent, and it was called Shine the Night.
