  1. @dani negreanu it’s Mimi. I had to come and give my deepest sympathy for the loss of the 6 Israeli hostages. It was such an inhumane thing to do, and words can’t describe the horror. I’m still praying for peace and the end of the suffering on both sides. I am so sad for the families of the hostages. Maybe this tragedy will somehow bring an end to this war. Stay safe, Dani. on a personal note, I am still confined to bed and wheelchair. I’m having therapy twice a week, and am learning to stand up at the walker from my wheelchair. seems so easy, but I’m only allowed to put 30% of my weight on my still healing leg, and my other leg won’t hold me up, so it’s a little depressing. The 13th I go for X-rays again to see how much my femur has healed. It will be the four month anniversary of my fall. I’m hoping that my orthopedist will say I can move to 60%. It’s hard not to step down on my leg, which has always been my stronger leg, so I’m concentrating on that, on using my knees to stand up, and to get my hands on the walker without pulling it over…I’m a mess! I’m aiming for at least being on the walker by my granddaughter’s wedding Dec 14. That would be 7 months after I fell. Tge good thing is that I was healthy for another granddaughter’s wedding May 4. it was 9 days later that I took a step that wasn’t there! Here’s Dick and me after the wedding. I’m so grateful it happened 9 days after instead of 9 days before! I miss you all and will be back when I have my life back!
  2. @dani negreanuI haven’t been here in a long time for various reasons, but had to come today to say how sorry your national nightmare is continuing and you had the sounds of rockets and air raid alarms in Tel Aviv. It just goes on and on, big conflicts that destroy hundreds of lives at a time, and small ones that destroy families. I had a very bad fall and fractured my femur as well as breaking off pieces of it. my surgery was May 15, just 11 days after my granddaughter’s wedding. I am so grateful I was able to be healthy for the wedding. I am not allowed to put my right foot on the floor for a minimum of 3 months. my left leg won’t hold me up, so they’re working on strengthening it. With not much luck so far. Getting me into a wheelchair requires a sling and lifting machine. very painful. I don’t know what my future holds, or what will happen when I leave the rehab hospital. But I am grateful for the physical and mental safety for my family. I hope and pray for the same in the future for the rest of the world.
  3. @aussielozzie18 Right now our world is a very sad place. I read what happened in Sydney. There is a tremendous amount of anger everywhere, but you just don’t expect the fear for your life in a mall or grocery store. I was a child during WWII. We actually thought peace would be permanent after that. now it’s not only war, but people so filled with anger they feel compelled to strike out. I give thanks for the brave police officer who stopped the murderer. I pray the injured recover, especially the baby whose mother died. I pray for the souls of the victims, and for the people of Sydney and of the whole country that this doesn’t happen to you again. Somehow, good has to prevail over evil.
  4. @dani negreanu. Dani, I hoped this terrible time would end, but no one in charge wants to give in. I hope you and yours stay safe, and that somehow somebody can broker a peace.
  5. @dani negreanu Congratulations on still having the best group on CC! I have been too busy to comment often, but I try to keep up! I often think of you and your family and friends. I hope this sad time will be over before too much longer.
  6. I was worried before I went to Japan that I wouldn’t find enough to eat (!!!), mainly because I don’t eat fish much. Don’t know what I was thinking! The food was great, the people so polite, and the bullet train was so smooth we couldn’t tell how fast we were going. We passed Mt Fuji between Kyoto and Tokyo, but clouds obscured it. I wish I could go again; Japan was beautiful.
  7. I’ve not had time to play on my iPhone for a while My 35 person group cruise took up more time than they did back when I worked. maybe it’s because of the demographics? I don’t want to betray my favorite gender, but herding cats is what it has been like. The result was a really great cruise; dinners in the MDR were actually excellent, and the dining department on Allure did exactly what asked for. We were in the side room with an entrance directly from the elevator lobby. No winding through the tables to get to ours, and quiet enough we could all talk. I can attend my women’s club luncheons without fear that someone is going to come after me with a pitchfork! I’ve been keeping up with our friend who is on the World Cruise, and y’all may have already posted this. I hate to think of all I have missed. Anyway, he is now a certified Sydney Harbor Bridge climber!
  8. @grapau27 Happy Birthday to Pauline. I’m sure she is having a lovely meal, because you two know how to do it well!
  9. Ok@Ocean Boy Great Coco Cay and sunrise photos. I haven’t seen the balloon in the air in a long time! @dani negreanu My heart goes out to you. I wish we could make it better. Please talk to us whenever it gets to be too much. Know that you have friends here who really care; even though we are able to live our lives, you are here inside of us and always in our prayers and our thoughts.
  10. Dani, I’m so very sorry you’re living with this every day. It has to color everything you do. I’m just glad you’re not physically impacted, but mental and emotional exhaustion has to be hard to live with. You have friends here who are praying for this and the other hot spots to come to a peaceful conclusion.
  11. In the past, that has worked. Now when I click on “select a different cruise” it takes me to book a cruise. I can’t see any way in the app to look at another sailing, as I have done many times before.
  12. It was wonderful, compared to the “brick” I carried before.
  13. Thank you. I don’t go to either one, but my friends will be disappointed.
