  1. Here is a video from a similar cabin. (the forward cabin that is just like the Aft one, on the curve) This is R414 on the sister-ship Discovery Princess. There are 2-3 photos at about 1:40 into the video that show looking up at the SeaWalk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuJtk2vYmCA
  2. Not a whole lot of difference... in order to really see onto balconies, from the SeaWalk, one would have to really peer down thru the window glass floor. This isn't the big problem on the first Royal Class ships, where the SeaWalk was more open. Note that on Marina and Riviera, the wider Lido deck above will shade the balcony and be a bit of a limit to an open sky view. Mid-ship and Mid-deck are my favorites for convenience and for less motion that higher or more forward locations. Not a big difference at all, but Aloha would be my pick. Unless, as mentioned, stairs to the Lido would be a plus for you.. get to the Lido and the Buffet without an elevator being more necessary.
  3. Yes, you can book the standard, and add a package at any time. Possibly thru boarding day???? Do consider the specialty restaurants! Too bad that Alfredo's is no longer 'included'... But you really should go there, great pizza! I can't advise as far as the suite... How much would you appreciate the Aft location???? There are probably YouTube videos of the Suites... (other Royal Class ships should be almost the same as the Enchanted.) If you are looking at the Aft Penthouse Suites, I believe that some will have larger/deeper balconies on some decks than others.
  4. We just got back from Turks and Caicos. (Provo, not Grand Turk) There has been a lot of crime there, as in many places. But, it is not focused on tourists. It is usually a more domestic/internal problem. We stayed close to our resort in a developed and safer area... Did walk back to our resort before the last faint glow of sunset turned into darkness. We felt safe enough! Common sense and precautions! NOTE: with the situation on the Island, in general, not just crime - we are not planning to return. I think the advice to stay in more developed and controlled (safer, not out of the way areas) is the way to go. We used to venture out a bit further.... But, now we don't. We would stick with Princess excursions, or a known reputable tour/excursion outfit. You shouldn't need to worry!
  5. Enjoy!!!! Sorry, I type faster than I think.. Somehow had the idea that it was a woman's post or name. Of course the grill/counter on the pool deck is open and included for everyone. The Gastropub would be a different restaurant/venue. A lot of people really enjoy the Sky!!!
  6. I believe she is on the Sky Princess later this month. Ocean Terrace Sushi bar could be another option? Sky does not have O'Malley's or other venues. Do not confuse the Salty Dog Grill counter on the pool deck with the Gastro Pub. No Gastro Pub onboard. We would be happy to visit Alfredo's twice!
  7. Regal has been one of our favorites.... Changes... Large Sanctuary. (they made it smaller on the newer ships) Find space for another great dining venue. (NOT a part of the buffet) All of the other aforementioned things, like the cabins and bathrooms should be more like the Sun. I do not particularly care for the extra things like rides/spellbound/etc.. when cruising. Never visit a casino. I know that this is a money-maker... but location and smoking issues have to be resolved.
  8. I am not sure about this one... The thing we enjoyed when we first started sailing Princess was the Piazza. They could change the design a bit... and limit the louder entertainment... (one hour per night....). But, we totally enjoy the concept of the one centralized attractive Piazza, with comfortable seating, etc. IMHO, just from photos and videos... it seems that the big open Piazza on the new Sun Princess has lost the character. And, really... another 'screen'.... Is there NO escape. With no adult only area, we could be considering cancelling our booking on the Sun.
  9. You are SO right!!! On our upcoming sailing, all categories from interior to Deluxe Balcony and Mini-Suites are almost sold out... NOBODY is booking those cabana deck deluxe balconies. (aka pretend mini suites). Most of them are sitting un-booked. Princess night just find out what a huge mistake they made with this one.
  10. I just posted a similar comment on another current thread... If there is something like that you really want... ( a particular sweetener in that case ) bring it!!!! Honey mustard, Your favorite soft drink, sweetener, hot sauce.... Hey.... cruise happy!!!! But it doesn't sound like honey mustard would help these 'chicken' fingers.
  11. I do not know from experience, but have seen comments that the quality of beef on the SUN has been better. I am hoping so!!! Even thought The Catch does not have it's own venue, I have not tried it, and we are considering going Premier instead of Plus so that we have these included. I wonder if dining at a less busy time would help with the ambiance at The Catch?
  12. That can be true on the Royal and Regal, but the newer Royal Class ships have a number of Premium Balcony or Premium Deluxe Balcony cabins, on Deck 9. So at least there are those! But same small bathroom and shower. At least the showers are a tiny bit bigger than older ships.
  13. Yes, we have noticed that. The entry level 'teaser' beginning-at rates are only for a collection of entry level cabins in the basic categories. And, may have to be GTY as well. Cheaper way to get on a ship. But we are more picky about our cabin!
