  1. Thanks Victoria- as I can see- you took my little joke literally- I know there is a prommenade deck- it´s just that in my book a prommenade deck looks - well like on board the other Queens. LOL.
  2. Prommenade Deck- what prommenade Deck? There isn´t any on board QA that would earn that name. LOL. A sheltered walkway rather, with one or two "open spots"!
  3. Some of us may remember when Michel Roux sen. was the consultant for X- cruises. I just found that his son his doing so for Cunard now- first on the new Queen Anne. Roux sen. was still in charge as consultant when I started cruising with X. Absolut fantastic food- I must say- and good deal better than the MDR´s fare currently. Not that I don´t like the MDR- meals on board X nowadays- it´s just that in them days it was a touch better. So I will see what his son does for Cunard. There also the food standards slipped a bit after Covid.
  4. I really don´t mind paying 11 Dollars for a good Burger. If the chairs are comfy- well that remains to be seen after I have tried them myself. LOL. The only constant is the change- wether we like it or not.
  5. I agree, Williamsburg Cruiser - you get what you pay for. It is still in some minds that on cruise you get the best of the best food. That does certainly not apply for massmarket ships. Anyway- certain standards should be maintained and food that bad- as the OP describes it- should not happen. Even though I left RCCI many years ago- I thing even before they introduced those plastic plates in the Windjammer ( argh) - their ships I always found stunning- up to the Voyager Class- including Radiance Class ( along with Vision Class my favorte ships with RCCI) !
  6. It is with great interest that I read all the comments about the new " Cunarder". I sailed on board about 25 different ship with different lines. Cunard beeing my favorite at the moment. Every new ship has some parts that one likes- some less so. That´s quite usual - each has ones own taste. A real ship buff ( which I am) might stick to QM2. It is good that new ship has modern feel- and still remains elegant- acording to the pictures and the video I saw so far. I am not overly impressed with the QR either but all the other lounges look really nice and elegant. My favorite is the Commodore Club. I also like that most lounges are outside with big windows- which makes a real Cunarder- connected with the seas at evey twist and turn. Nobody would dare to call that walkway around the ship a Promenade Deck. I expected it to be that way. I sailed on board Nieuw Statendam, which is also Pinacle Class and did not like it one bit. Glad they customized QA to be a Cunarder- different maybe- but still a Cunarder.
  7. Good Morning- Guten Morgen. All questions answered already- anyway- I sometimes forgot to print my tags and got them from the porter without any further ado. So not to worry. I usually print them out and have them stapled them when checking out of the hotel- or I let the porter take care of it. Just never put them at the luggage when you check in at the airport. Schattenfell- is this your first Cunard voyage? I am big fan of Cunard, esp. QM2. I am curious about the first pictures of QA´s interiour. I am not overly happy with QA´s lack of a propper promenade deck. The new Cunarder is built on the base of the Pinacle Class- which is also Holand Americas Nieuw Statendam - I sailed with that ship- but did not really like the layout. So I hope the interious is more " Cunard Style"!
  8. Thank you for letting us parttake in this long awaited event of the Maiden Voyage of QA. I so look forward to many many pictures of her interiours. Thx. again.
  9. Oh my this somewhat confused me- I did not see a offering of Constellation of India - then I checked and saw the topic was unburried from 7 years ago.
  10. Legend and Rhapsody are the only Vision Class ships I did not sail. When Legend came out she was called the ship of lights- and she was, as I saw when looking at the pictuers. . As all Vision Class of ships were- and are still. Grandeur beeing my first BIG ship in 1996 got me hooked. So many wonderful views out to the sea. That is gone with the new RCI ships. My biggest was the then biggest ship in the World- Voyger of the Seas. To many lounges indoors...! Then I switched to Celebrity - returning to RCI when they brought out the Radiance Class- also ships with many glas used - wonderful class of ships. Why should they not reuse their former ships names. Cunard operates the third Queen Elisabeth currently and the second Queen Mary... !
  11. Oh dear what a tragedy that is. The possibility that he took matters in his own hands can very well be true. Having no closer makes the loss, the mourning even harder to cope with.
  12. Thank you und Guten Morgen - very nice to be greated in German- are you from Germany perhaps? Thanks yes- near the theater, where there was that table and the chairs. Infinity still has the old layout - well she never was revolutionized. Cellar Masters- yes indeed- thx for helping out- I really must say they changed Summit during that major refit almost beyong regocnition- but she looks really stunning.
  13. Infinity got her refit a few weeks back- I was on board after the refit- she look and apeared in fantastic shape - considering her age.
  14. Thank you for all those pictures- very interessting- I almost did not recognize the shop area on the revolutionized Summit. Pictures one and two I do not even know where that on board is???Looks nice though. I sailed Summit twice but in er Original livery.
  15. An here is a voter for Infinity. Even though Silhouette is a great ship- sailed her a couple of times, I like the open prommenade deck and the more " cosy " feel about Millenium Class better. Infinity is not only in great ship- she was in Drydock a couple of weeks ago and all has been reupholstered and so on. Wonderful ship- just debarked 4 weeks ago. Also Athens roundtrip. Even though it is decided I wanted to mention it.
