  1. Was told on the Sky in September that we could not take any food with us from the Sushi restaurant because the food got unhealthy if it was not eaten immediately. It was suggested that since the Sushi restaurant has no desserts, we stop in at the buffet and pick up whatever we wanted to take back to our cabin.
  2. Was wondering when you were told your first stop in the Philippines would be Currimao instead of Salomague. We showed up at Salomague at 10 AM, and the only person at the port told us it was changed to Currimao, about a 30 minute drive further north for us. When we got there we were not allowed to park, since we were not a tour or public transpirtation, and we were not allowed near the dock, we saw the first two tenders pulling in fron further up the coast. In 2019, when Salomague was a tender port for Celebrity, we greeted the cruisers as they disembarked, plus there were cultural musicians and dancers performing right on the docks. Disappointed this time.
  3. I just got online for the first time in a week, been in rural Philippines. Got an email dated 10/31/23 saying my 8/25/24 cruise on Grandeur I had not named the second person on the cruise, I had 24 hours to provide the info for the second passenger or I would be penalized accordingly. Then got an email dated 11/2/23 telling me the cruise is cancelled and saying if I do not reply by 11/23/23 then my deposit will be refunded. I had another short cruise scheduled before the 13 days to Boston, so I feel short changed. Did not yet buy airline tickets, will be in Bethlehem, PA next August, not wanting to fly to Tampa for a 7 day cruise on an old tired ship and fly back home. Losing 20 days of cruising. At least I won't have to pay $18/day service charges.
  4. House of Representatives should get right on this urgent question. I say this as an American
  5. I did b2b on Sky over 20 days, the ship was 70% and 65% full, singles paid no premiums, last second prices dropped to $50/day per person inside cabins.
  6. Planning to fly Thanksgiving week, always a mistake.
  7. Do you have any plans for the ports in the Philippines? We will be there as of 10/19/23, our house is about 40 miles from your first stop in the Philippines, Salamague. Unfortunately that is 11/1, and most of the Catholics and others will be visiting and decorating family tombstones in all the cemeteries. Plenty of food for sale, a good day to sell candles. The port has a new dock, Celebrity stopped there in 2019, but it was a tender port. We gonna do a similar itinerary in 2025 on the Sky, we did Singapore to Hong Kong on Jewel in 2019. Liked Jewel more than Sky, they had very good Asian food on Jewel. Looks like a great itinerary, we had considered it, but decided to spend a week in Hawaii with family on the way to the Philippines. Looking forward to reading your reports.
  8. Did b2b Sky in September, 10 day cheap cruises which sailed at 75% and 65%. Not one of the big ships, but I doubt Wheel of Fortune is gonna change anything.
  9. Got 2 dinners for 2 at specialty restaurants on each 7 day cruise, twice what you get on a 14 day cruise.
  10. Actually 2 seven night b2b beats the hell out of one 14 night cruise, you get double the Lattitudes rewards.
  11. Last thing I want is to have to bring a phone to be entertained.
  12. We do 16 hours JFK to Manila, they expect people to walk around every couple of hours for health reasons, but many go into drug induced sleep. The one time we flew to SF first then Manila it was a longer trip, felt more exhausted than doing 16 hours nonstop. Always fly economy.
  13. Taking a broken back to back next August from Tampa, doing 7 day Western Caribbean, then a night in Tampa, then a different ship 13 days to Boston. Couple of old, small Royal Caribbean ships, my kind of cruise, no reservations required.
  14. On 1/17/25 boarding Sky in Manila for 10 days to Japan, ending in Taiwan, then a b2b 12 day making 4 stops in the Philippines, a few in Vietnam and other ports on the way to Singapore.
  15. The free part is you don't have to pay to watch.
  16. 9/1/23 cruise, have not opened them yet, figure worth more on E-Bay if in uncirculated condition.
  17. Hope the prizes are better than trivia, got me a genuine Norwegian Cruise Lines deck of cards. Wow, 52 cards for free!
  18. Just saw Deal No Deal on Sky, the return on investment is almost as bad as bingo. Not interested in any game shows, not entertaining. NO DEAL!
  19. On Sky 9/11 to 9/21 Quebec to Baltimore, missed two ports because of tropical storm Lee, got $100 OBC per cabin and a 10% FCC. Then at Martha's Vineyard we could not tender, so NCL upped the FCC to 20%. There were less than 1,400 passengers on a 2,004 double occupancy ship. Two of the ports where we stopped it rained all day. Such is cruising during hurricane season.
  20. What a pain in the ass, the items must be in their original package, unused. Wipes out refunds for drinks and unpackaged t-shirts.
