  1. I've known a few people who have gotten help this route. Good luck.
  2. 6 hours! Wow. I agree, it is frustrating not knowing what you'll hit. And it seems hit and miss. I keep seeing people who showed up super early only to tend up sitting at their gate for hours on end. But then you have those who spend hours in security.
  3. Hmm. We generally fly much more to the US than anywhere else but I would like to do Europe again soon. Also, I fly out of Halifax so most of the time there is a connection somewhere along the way, usually YYZ or YUL.
  4. I didn’t see any rays. Just a bunch of small fish. One of the lifeguards told me they have sea turtles in the lagoon (North beach?). It was rough the day I was there so visibility was low. Didn’t see any. I considered going to one of the beaches that aren’t life guarded but it was quite rough and I was alone so I opted not to.
  5. I think it’s basically there is only so much availability. The offers we have are old now. There were lots of options at first and now not as much selection. i expect when a new offer comes there will be more options again. Just a matter of if and when.
  6. you are correct. There is the travel credit. Or a cheaper ticket for a second person. I don’t think I saw that. We got a deal a few years ago on the Visa Infinite Privilege. On the yearly fee. That’s what started me on this whole lounge thing. Back then they had Priority Pass but seems like PP isn’t as good anymore and I guess Visa IP is doing something else. Im going to have to look into that. Sounds like it has what I want. I’ll never forget the time I was in a work trip and made a mistake with my flight time at YVR. The cab driver broken the speed record getting me there and I got in just under the wire only to find a gigantic security line. I was sure I wasn’t making it. Then I noticed the sign that said priority lane for Visa Infinite Privilege members. I pull out my credit card because that sounded familiar. Sure enough. It was. I still wasn’t sure but the guy waved me through. Made my flight with time to spare. Sadly this was only good at YVR, YOW and 1 other at that time. Thanks!
  7. Same. He is going to play the $200 whether they gave it to him or not. Same with OBC. I would have spent it on board anyway.
  8. How far out are you? I heard back 4 days before my sailing. I've seen similar posts elsewhere. I don't know if it has been mentioned - I thought the food was overall very good on MSC as I already said. However. Ocean Cay is the one exception. We did not care for the buffet there. The burgers were cold and dry. The jerk chicken was good, tasty but not spicy. There were also ribs, fries, salad. Can't remember what else. From what I heard the food trucks cook the burgers fresh. Had we known that, we would have just went there. I ate on the ship the second day. We didn't end up getting off early due to rain but it was my plan to return to the ship to eat regardless. YMMV
  9. Not exactly cruise related but since I'm planning to fly to cruises - I'm looking at switching up reward cards. I prefer a travel card. Right now we have a card that give us access to Priority Pass lounges which I recently learned in Toronto are not always accessible. I used to fly WestJet a lot but the flights from where I am just don't work for connections since they got rid of the direct to Toronto flight. Plus I've learned that if I fly AC, I don't have to exit the terminal and go through security again. I'm looking at an Aeroplan card, specifically one of the American Express cards. Anyone have these? How is it? The priority perks are attactive. I'm still waiting to get an interview for Nexus. I just signed up for Aeroplan this year so dont' have many points earned towards status.
  10. You need to come back and finish. We ended up booking a slightly different itinerary. AB G? Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Aruba and Bonaire. Told DH about your review and Aruba, he said he's wanted to go so it was on. We found this itinerary and the timing worked better. We both love Grand Turk and I really loved HMC. Deposit was paid today. So now I need to know what to do in Bonaire.
  11. There is a guy on another forum who wrote that his wife packs 12 suitcases. They drive to port. They carry disposable dishes, cleaning supplies and food in case of forced quarantine.
  12. What would the acceptable number be before you cancel?
  13. While that is helpful (I learned that trick on my last cruise), they were referring to the safe. Not the lights. The Dream didn't have the slot for the lights on my last cruise. MSC did.
  14. This is my issue as well. My running clothes take up half my suitcase because I need a couple options even if I handwash. My last cruise (5 days but a hotel stay on either end) that is what I did, wore sneakers on plane, packed one pair of sandals. With a carry-on rolling bag and a big back pack I had no extra space. It saved me money because I couldn't go shopping on our last day in Florida. I haven't tried packing cubes yet but they are supposed to be good as well for helping save space. I also meant to add, we bought sunscreen when we arrived in Florida as opposed to carrying on.
  15. Mine (well my husband's) aren't really "free". But it's $100 per person with a $200 OBC.
  16. My plane is to win big in the casino on my next cruise and use that money to buy airfare to Australia.
  17. It took me a bit to figure out my "free balcony" was a cove. No thanks.
  18. We sailed the end of March. No masks. Pretty full. People were jammed. I even asked in our online group if anyone had tested positive after and no one had (not saying no one did, but I do not believe a large number did). At the same time, I came home to a large outbreak after people on the ship telling me they thought covid was over. I sailed from Texas. The majority were from driving distance to port. An area that had been open and gone through many waves. Where I live, we hadn't. We were just opening up so we were experiencing bigger waves. I think that played a role. But earlier in the year it didn't seem like there was much covid on the ships (there definitely still was). I think this just has to do with the wave like nature of this infection and what is going on where the majority of people are coming from.
  19. Ah. There is a difference between the Red Frog Bar and Red Frog Pub.
  20. Isn’t there? i swear there was.
  21. I sailed Galveston in March and was in the last arrival time group. I arrived on time and there were still long, long lines.
  22. I'm guessing you will have to deal with customer service directly to do this. It may all depend on what type of offer code you booked. If the offer code you booked on the second room was only available to certain VIFPs, you may not be able to remove your wife without removing the deal they booked under. Some offers require the VIFP number it was booked under to be in the room.
  23. I always have my phone on me because I use it to take pictures. My other half doesn't. He was annoyed because he would prefer to have left his phone in the cabin even if he doesn't get texts or emails, just to totally disconnect. I hated it because even though I do usually have my phone, I found there were times it needed to be charged and I'd find myself somewhere I needed my phone to see the menu. I did ask for a paper copy. In at least one bar I was told they didn't have one.
  24. We loved the non-smoking casino but I liked the machines in the regular casino better. We also played a lot of blackjack and there were always a couple of people to play with. I only once remember it being packed at the table, which I liked.
