I got called to the "naughty room" once when they confiscated my personal steamer. It was returned the the last day of the cruise. At least they didn't find the booze :). Yes, this was before drink packages!

The day we arrive in Puerto Plata there are 4 or 5 ships in port and it looks like Carnival has all the excursions for Amber Cove so my guess is we are headed to Taino Bay....

I am finally retiring next month and feel the same! My only issue now is the dog sitter books up early 😞

We had also had Newcastle on draft in O'Shehan's but that was 2019. I'm sure hoping i can get a decent draft on the Breakaway in a few months 🙂

I'd much rather stick with hidden bids but that's my choice :)

I recall seeing games in O'Sheehans. We actually did not book dinners for the Sunday upcoming cruise since we just want to have wings and watch the games!

I'd rather bid once and be done vs. competing and watching the bids. No thanks.

I like the idea of bidding once and forgetting about it vs. competing and watching bids every day.

I don't like the idea of the is real time bidding at all. Too stressful and feels cheezy.

The Dawn was en route to New York when it encountered high seas and a 70-foot rogue wave, causing damage to several cabins and minor injuries to four passengers. The suit alleged that NCL deliberately went into a storm in order to arrive in New York at a designated time because it had a filming scheduled with "The Apprentice" TV show.

My friend was sailing on an NCL ship years ago when a rogue wave hit. No way in hell would i sleep with the door open!

Depends on what you want. We have done Tortola and St. Thomas multiple times. If you are on a budget , rent a minivan and do your own self guided tour and save a ton of $$. We did that when the boys were young.

We will be 2 floors above your cabin in November. Nothing better than the aft. The place onboard that your cabin really feels like you are on a ship!!! I clearly remember smelling cookies baking while out on deck one morning on one of our past trips. I would be able to suffer with the fragrances from Cagneys ! Bon Voyage!!

Paradise Beach Club all inclusive in Cozumel. We have been there 3 or 4 times and does not disappoint. Book privately through their website. Roatan has fabulous snorkeling and have been there 3 times. We did a day pass private at Infinity Bay Resort and Spa last trip and was nice!

We have cruised a few times from NY. Most recently in 2019 with Platinum Latitudes. Went through security quick then huge sign for platinum towards the right of entrance. We waited 5-10 minutes before documents and cards were received and boarded right after Haven. As a past Haven guest I'd love to be escorted on with my Haven lunch awaiting but I guess I can keep the extra 5k and wait a few more minutes to board this time around (unless the upgrade bid is accepted).

We have an aft on our upcoming 14 night partial canal sailing. I booked the aft for the canal (we have done before in the aft and not to be missed) . Only 15 Haven cabins available on Breakaway and minimum bid is over $1000 pp and NCL site still at $6500 a person. I bid high fair but wont be broken hearted if i don't win.

That was our favorite too! My heart has always been with the Dawn :)

Yes while doing a mock booking on NCL page - it showed half of what i saw on another site.

Congratulations! Yes deck 16 better- especially for the kids with the pool. We had a 2 bedroom on the Getaway with our boys a few years back. Now for me Haven prices still over 6k each for November cruise. Just cant do that so hoping for a decent drop soon....

Do it. I promise you wont regret it. Keep us posted what you do. BTW I'm on Breakaway 11/6 and am watching those prices daily for a price drop so I can book too.

Great price and we live in NY too but I have Disney Food & Wine Fest booked in September and 14 night Breakaway booked for November! Otherwise I'd jump on for sure!!!

Ok we haven't cruise since 2019. Does NCL still do the white hot party? I hope so since I just bought the perfect dress 🙂

I love this post. We have been in the Haven a few times and prior to that suites and man oh man. This is why I have worked as a nurse for 30 years ( always held 2 jobs) to enjoy the extras in life like this. My kids will never forget the first an d only time in the Deluxe Owners Suite. Do I need it? No? Do I deserve it? Yes! Placing my bid for my retirement cruise and going all in (well almost) with a decent bid for our 14 night cruise this November. Wish me luck. Life is short!
