  1. There is a nice pub, Mahony's, across from the hotel and a Cactus Club. Looks like they will not be open that late. You could also go on the hotel website to check how late the bar there is open and what might be on offer from room service.
  2. We were on the Koningsdam for an 18 day Hawaii Cruise. The grand Dutch Cafe was lovely and most food items are included at no charge. There was lots of space if you wanted to participate in games, trivia, Tai Chi but limited space in the art room for doodling, brush writing or painting classes. We especially enjoyed the band in the Rolling Stone Lounge. We only went to the dining room once when it opened and found it to be a little rushed. Lido Buffet had plenty of choices and once you found a seat you could take your time. The pizza and panicotta on the pool deck was something to try many times. The pool chairs were often taken but the smoking pool was not so crowded and not very smoky. Pickle ball lessons and casual tournaments were fun. All staff were amazing!
  3. We absolutely loved the RS band on the Koningsdam last April!
  4. Koningsdam has a dance floor in the Rolling Stones and BB King music venues.
  5. I used the ship water in April with no problems.
  6. I did not see a fruit punch dispenser when I was on the Koningsdam in April.
  7. Once a year, in the spring sometime I think, the gratuity amount is reviewed. If you prepay before that date you are only charged the lesser amount which is a "perk".
  8. i think that they don't include embarcation and debarcation days.
  9. Panacota, bread pudding, cookies and boule from the Dutch Cafe/
  10. In April classes were $20 each and you can only get the pass at the gym, not in advance.
  11. On the Koningsdam there was a beverage dispenser for the soda package. There were lots of choices from the Coca Cola company including Zero and caffein free. It comes with a special insulated cup and you can refill every hour. we did not find we used it as much as we thought. I found the $100 beverage card was just about the perfect amount for alcohol and specialty coffees on our 18 day cruise.
  12. We did the tube tour back in 2012 and had a great time! They had advised us not to take cameras and to bring bug spray. We never had or needed bug spray on the islands at all. if you have a waterproof camera or a waterproof case for your phone, take it. we were sorry not to have taken ours. It was bit sprinkly the day we went but that did not ruin our fun.
  13. I agree, the airport had good rates and is close.
  14. Thanks. Florida_50, this looks like more fun than a verandah.
  15. Would anyone mind sharing the price of a 2 person cabana? Not able to search this on the HAL site. I understand they book quickly and am considering one for a future cruise.
  16. Leaving next week for Hawaii and there is a ballroom dance hour at 5pm most days, at sea for sure/
  17. So I got confirmation that the schedule classes and sale of passes happen on board. My next question is - Are classes offered in a separate room or on the main gym floor? I did not enjoy being in a yoga class on the main floor of a different cruise line.
  18. Elemis is a high quality brand which is used in many spas. you can go to their web site and check out the products if you are concerned about ingredients
  19. I have seen families using walkie-talkies on Carnival.
  20. Just wondering if HAL has branded scrapbooks for sale on board. I really like the Carnival ones I've purchased in the past.
  21. Funny but too bad about those classes. I prepaid and prebooked all my sea day yoga classes on Carnival last time. Maybe the schedule will be set closer to our HAL sailing date.
