  1. I'm reminded of the old saying by that one philosopher, " I drink, therefore I am" going to book a cruise under the new program.
  2. I liked the After School Special pretty well.
  3. I don't remember how they are on the Marina or Riviera, but I had that issue come up with the light on the Regatta, I unplugged it. No problems for the rest of the cruise.
  4. Just go, it's a very moving experience. My favorite uncle was at the landing in the Big Red 1.
  5. Why does this thread feel like Groundhog Day?
  6. You get a 6 bottle in room setup of alcohol that you get to choose from a list. As far as booking your friends in the specialty, you won't be able to do that up front, but if you ask your butler he might be able to make that happen for you. I know we asked out butler to do this once with some friends that were in a lower cabin and he made it happen. You should also be able to dine in the room with them from a specialty.
  7. I'll be interested to see how this works out for you. With it being a weekend, and the 4th Holiday coming up Tuesday I wouldn't get excited if you didn't get an answer till about Wednesday.
  8. A few years ago we were in your situation on the key card and just asked the room attendant to let us in, they knew who we were and that we were continuing on. You'd think somhow over the years they'd figure out a system that works for those on multiple legs.
  9. Only been on the menu since I started sailing with them in 2009.
  10. There has seemed to be an influx of negativity to this site lately. Seriously folks, life is good, we can afford to take nice vacations, look on the bright side, not everyone is out to trick you or steal your money.
  11. I think they own or are part of the same company that owns some other big website we all here use.
  12. They contacted me about my mid cruise comment, when they knew I would be at dinner and left a message explaining why the way they do it is right. This is not the first time I’ve had this happen.
  13. I think you need to see it through their lens. If you were in the upper echelon of a loyalty program and your benefits & recognition you had earned over the years and were promised were being cut in favor of those that spent the big bucks on suites then you might see it that way. I think I might. I don't really think any of us liked it when our perks were reduced back in the fall of 19
  14. Because sometimes just a simple old hot dog tastes great. Ketchup, Mustard, & Relish.
  15. I'm with Pinot on this. I don't like meals to be a somber occasion. I think the Italians have it right when it comes to mealtime. It's a party.
  16. Not necessarily true. My last two cruises we've only got invited to one, although there were two parties. Or maybe they just don't like me as well. It was different OCA's each time but both cruises were on the Riviera. On other cruises we've been invited multiple times. Possibly even before we were platinum. Another thing they didn't do this last cruise was have some people come 15 minutes early like they historically have done. This was the first time I can remember in the last 5 years or more that they didn't do that.
  17. On one of the times we were there on a cruise we took the train to Rome, it's not hard at all. Lots of people explain it on the Ports of Call section. We got off right by the Forum-Colosseum area, we bought our tickets and explored the Colosseum, then the rest of the Forum area, back on the train, easy as pie.
  18. When did the Deviation fee go from $175 a person to $299? Since I don't pay it I must have missed it.
  19. Since you've found out in other posts that you can use it for any tour you could always take one of those private cars for the day tours and have them take you wherever you want to go. Afterall, you already paid for it and have the credit. That is if you choose Oceania for future cruises.
  20. I remember a few years ago on a Roll Call this one lady constantly posted that she was going to do a Segway tour in Rome. Our cruise started there, she was going in a couple days early. She posted a lot, the cruise was for her husband's retirement. Cut to Meet & Greet party and we meet this lady, she was in a wheelchair due to a broken leg from a Segway accident. Her husband spent his retirement cruise pushing her around. Having been to Rome a few times there is no way I would ride a bike, scooter or anything similar. It's a zoo. The locals weave in and out of traffic on their scooters constantly. It's a wonder there's not more accidents.
  21. I'm curious how you might ascertain this information?
  22. I haven't been on Vista, but I distinctly remember the lounge doors on Marina & Riviera being soft close. On the other hand, there is a crew door in that area on the O class that is used a lot, and early. And it does slam shut. There is also a hallway door that goes to the laundry in that general area, but I don't think anyone is using the laundry at 5am, but there is also a crew door accessed by the same hallway.
  23. Yeah, I love it when someone from Boston or NY tells me I have an accent. I'm like, are you kidding me?
