  1. No, they don't break the charges for ports and taxes out separately, so they don't refund them when a port is missed. Occasionally they might have open bar for a while.
  2. I guess it depends on your point of view on them. There's nothing there that you really need for going on your cruise. They're things that make it easier, like the luggage tags, it's a nice touch. Pretty much everything you need comes in your Final Documents by email. You can see all the excursions online, on in the PDF for excursions for your cruise. What is good about the booklet is that they put pretty much all the information you need for your cruise in one place, as opposed to being scattered all over their disjointed website. Many people share your views on the promotional mailings, others actually like them.
  3. In Sept our two books came inside a brown folder. Did yours not?
  4. Is that supposed to be Capt Kate on the left in the email? Not very flattering.
  5. We were there in mid May of this year.
  6. That would be the one. I wouldn't stay there again, it is probably my least favorite Marriott I've stayed in. The Residence Inn on Homby St is better, closer to good restaurants, actually walking distance to Canada Place, but you probably wouldn't want to do it with luggage. My wife and I walked to the Pan Pacific for a precruise Cruise Critic get together and it was only about a mile.
  7. We stayed at the Marriott at Richmond since we had a rental car for the day. I wasn't that thrilled with it as they are still using Covid as an excuse/reason for not providing regular amenities, M Lounge closed, business center closed. We wanted to print boarding passes and was told to send anything we needed printing to the front desk email and they would print it. Boarding passes don't really work that way. Did them on the phone and it was fine, but we always like backup. It wasn't very convenient to many restaurants and was a bit rundown. Bar service was real slow as they only had one person working. If you're a Marriott person I'd recommend something else. We usually stay on points and this was a better deal than the ones in the downtown area. We did get upgraded to a suite, but we had requested it with Suite Night Awards. Have you checked the West Coast Homeport section here? I'm surprised this thread hasn't been moved there.
  8. Well NO, what happened is that Diamond Plus no longer have access to the Concierge Lounge, they still have access to the Diamond lounge. They also get 5 free drinks a day at any bar at any time. Not a bad perk really. There are a few other perks also. While nowhere as good as Oceania perks, it's not bad for a Mass Market line.
  9. How long is your cruise? If over 14 or 15 days then Final is 150 days before the cruise and penalty's start at 180 days before cruise, which puts an April cruise squarely in that bullseye.
  10. I agree with you, I've always felt the pizza on O is lousy, I can cook better at home with a fajita wrap and ingredients we have on hand. We don't pretend it's good pizza, but it's better than what O serves.
  11. Exactly what I was thinking, if it did move, seems simpler to put the Trattoria equipment where the BBQ was.
  12. I'm not sure that is what the poster is saying. Where would it be? No room by the bar. Smoking area? I don't think so. Would it be at the front end of Waves? If it moved most probable. I think it's more a matter of it being removed from inside Terrace, and nothing changing in the area by Waves. Maybe the poster can come back and clear it up.
  13. Thank you. We only cruise Royal every couple of years and our first time on a big ship. We're looking forward to it.
  14. So it's not really an improvement? Where they had two ice cream stations they now have one?
  15. I've never been on Viking, so I have nothing to add to this conversation. I do like Oceania though.
  16. Makes you wonder what the Diamond and the President's Circle get.
  17. Do the segmenters not get to partake in these?
  18. The card didn't get put in mine, but I probably wouldn't have made any of the recipes anyway.
  19. I could be mistaken, but I think those have always been there.
  20. I don't know, I'm giving my BIL an Oceania Jacket for Christmas that we got with big O points, and he's never been on Oceania. The price was right and it's his size.
  21. Nope, just a lowly Platinum. My wife got a Blank Journal last year from them, it's still blank. It is a nice leather bound journal with the O logo on it. We've got luggage tags before but this is the nicest thing we've ever received out of the blue.
  22. I see, I didn't click the link so I misunderstood what was happening.
