  1. My husband and I cruised earlier this year on the Apex. Because my husband has Parkinson’s, we booked an accessible cabin (mainly because we heard it was difficult to bring a scooter into a regular cabin), rented a scooter and brought our Drive transport chair. Bringing the transport chair was a godsend. Depending on the port, the transport chair allowed us to get off the ship. Scooters were not allowed on tenders. I will say that on docked ports, the staff was very helpful making sure he got down the ramps and back up.
  2. Thank you for your wonderful review. I loved seeing the shows and lectures. Your pictures were amazing. Safe travels.
  3. I just watched the JJ cruise video. I have followed them for a while and they seem to be very sincere and kind young men. I don’t know how I would react to witnessing such behavior. My first thought would be he should be removed from the restaurant but who knows what his reaction would have been. I can’t imagine how awkward the rest of the dinner service must have been. Sad.
  4. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on our very first cruise in 2005 on the Millennium. Back then, the Olympic was THE specialty restaurant. It was amazing.
  5. We’ve sailed Aqua Class for the majority of our cruises and only once have we ordered from the MDR menu. It was on the Apex in March of this year. Our waiter mentioned on the first night that if we didn’t see anything we liked, he would give us a menu from the MDR. Several nights into our cruise, my husband mentioned to our waiter that he really had a taste for fish. He immediately told my husband that there was a wonderful halibut being served that night in the Normandy (I think). He ordered it for him and he loved it. No disruption to the amazing service we’ve always had.
  6. Oh this is going to be so fun to follow! I’m having withdrawals since Charla’s last live review. Enjoy!
  7. We loved our Mexican riviera cruise and actually booked another for this December. Unfortunately, they switched ships on us so we canceled. Go try something new!
  8. What a wonderful review! Thank you for taking the time to share your trip with us!
  9. Thank you again for taking us along on your journey. Looks like hubby had a good time as well. I bet you didn’t notice how quickly the week went😳. I hope you arrived safely at home. I know St. Louis had some flooding this week so hopefully all is well at home. Looking forward to your next adventure. 🚢🥂
  10. We’ve stayed here many times, most recently earlier this year. We did notice many areas needing some refreshing, but not horrible. The staff was wonderful and you can’t beat the location.
  11. We sailed on the Summit out of Bayonne to Bermuda in 2017. I could barely contain myself when we sailed past the Statue of Liberty. It was awesome.
  12. Oh so excited to follow along again! Happy Birthday!
  13. Thank you so much for taking time out of your vacation to share your trip with us. It has been so entertaining (as always). Getting my “Gen X” fixes throughout the last week has made it so much more enjoyable. If it weren’t for the fact that you have a cruise planned for August, I might have to start a go fund me to keep you on the ship! Safe travels 🚢
  14. I’m curious what you are reading this cruise. You mentioned two books on your last cruise-“The Woman in Cabin 10” and “Crossing on the Paris”. I read both on our March Apex cruise and loved both of them.
  15. I love reading your reviews! Looking forward to another. Safe travels.🚢
  16. We were in Aqua Class in March on the Apex. Blu was wonderful as usual. One night my husband had a taste for fish and there wasn’t any on the menu. Our waiter said the halibut in one of the main dining rooms was excellent so he ordered it for him. It came hot and my husband really enjoyed it. Great service!
  17. Correct, I tried them at home only. When they didn’t work I tried to return them but the company said because they are used in a bathroom, they were not eligible for a refund. They went in the trash and I had permanent bars installed. Because my husband is disabled, we booked an accessible cabin for our most recent cruise.
  18. I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a wealth of knowledge and always kind.
