  1. wasn't there a goat cheese Soufflé? We ate in the Olympic on our very first cruise in 2005 for our 25th anniversary. A wonderful experience.
  2. Wow, Gen Z looks so grown up! Enjoy your cruise. We loved the APEX.
  3. So happy to log on tonight and read your latest review! Looking forward to part 2.
  4. We had a larger cabana on Apex earlier this year. We booked a smaller one originally but as it wasn’t handicap accessible, they moved us to a larger one that was. It was okay. I found it awkward with everyone walking by constantly. The food was good as was the service. We were the only ones there so our server was always there. Always. I think I prefer the cabanas on “S” class ships.
  5. Your comment about the beach towels was interesting to me. We were on the Apex in March. On our Cozumel day, I noticed there weren’t any beach towels in our room. I looked everywhere and just assumed this was a new procedure and we would pick them up as we disembarked. I guess I should have thought to call our attendant but frankly, she wasn’t terribly friendly. We went down to leave the ship and I didn’t see any available. An officer asked what I needed and I told him. He said they should have been in our room. He asked our room number and I just assumed it was so we could sign for them. Instead our not very happy attendant showed up with them. That was awkward. 😳
  6. Looking forward to following along with you again. My husband and I actually booked this cruise back in June of 2021. It was originally supposed to be on the millennium (our favorite ship). Earlier this year it was changed to the solstice (which we like very much). On top of that, a niece and nephew announced their upcoming weddings, requiring us to fly to two different states within two weeks of each other. Knocked the cruise off the calendar. Enjoy!
  7. I love your reviews! Looking forward to your next one.
  8. So excited to follow along on another adventure!
  9. We sailed earlier this year on the Apex. My husband who has Parkinson’s, uses a rollater/transport chair when we have to walk long distances. We checked in with our group of 18 and a lady came over and directed us to a separate area. Everyone in the group had a wheelchair, walker or crutches. She explained that we would board after the gangway cleared. That way no one would be rushing us or crowding us. We didn’t wait more than 10-15 minutes. It was very nice.
  10. Glad you arrived safe and sound and were missed by your fur babies! Thank you for the great read!
  11. Jim, I’m curious about your mention of the Reflection. Can you elaborate? Ellen
  12. Lovely words. Thanks again for taking us along. What a treat. Safe travels and good wishes for a successful surgery 👋
  13. Prior to our cruise, we kept trying to get a reservation at Eden and there wasn't any availability. On board, same thing. Then one day when we came out of the buffet after lunch, a young man at the specialty dining desk told us to go to Eden and speak to the Manager. So I did. He asked when we would like to come and I said whenever you can take us. We had a table for two the next night at a perfect time. I'm sure the fact that is was just the two of us helped.
  14. I think our favorite, like so many others, was Eden. It was wonderful. Fine Cut was good. We were seated away from the foyer so noise was not an issue. It was pretty typical fine steakhouse fare. Nothing over the top. We went Aqua Class so most of our meals were in Blu and they were all fantastic.
  15. I was going to say something else but didn’t want to get in trouble 😳
  16. On our most recent cruise, I recall so many kindnesses extended by fellow travelers. One in particular was when we were in the port at Cozumel. I was pushing my husband in the transport chair when we got to the "handicap ramp". All I can say is that the their idea of accessible and mine are vastly different. The ramp was at a 30-45 degree angle. There was no way I could safely get him down. A complete stranger saw me and said "I've got this" and spun the chair around and backed him down the ramp. I'll never forget that.
  17. We had a bunch on our last cruise (not really sure why) but we used some for a cabana, dinner at Eden and Fine Cut and the rest in the casino.
  18. On our very first cruise in 2005 on the millennium , the second day was Super Bowl Sunday and we watched the game in the casino. They had a tailgate party with hotdogs and popcorn. It was a blast.
  19. Your pictures are so amazing. The colors are brilliant. You have quite the eye. And Iain looks like a character!
