  1. I would be willing to bet you if you wanted to do something really big, that if you talked to the right person, someone could get "XXXXX Will you Marry Me?" put up on the big movie screen by the pool at just the right time. ;)

A little champagne by the bar, and then a big movie screen size proposal one evening under the stars!

Better add a name or there might be ait of people looking at their boyfriend! Good luck.

  2. Hi everyone.

Has anyone ever done a Christmas cruise? Is it weird being away from home during the holidays? MY DH (33), DS (7), and I are considering it this year.

Also which would you choose between???

    Carnival Magic (7 day Western)

Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas (7 day Western)

    Disney Fantasy (7 day Western)

I appreciate all the advice to come.

    THANKS

We have done a "Christmas Cruise ever year around Christmas but not actual Christmas day. Since we make it a family event, it is a great time for everyone to come together. We go our separate ways but meet in the dining room at a certain time each night. It is fantastic. We love the decorations and activities.

Sorry I can't recommend a ship as we haven't traveled on the other lines.

  3. great offers, all around. Hope some folks are able to take advantage.
We were able to but had to wait for DH to get approval from work. We are way in back so we hope f or call seas as we usuallyg prefer closer to middle of ship. However price was right!

  4. As stated free except for taxes and gratuities. Usually this is a casino offer and Carnival will make up that "free fare."

Regardless, we booked that rate for October 8, the Fascination, out of Port Carnavel. A very unexpected cruise but we could not resist the "free fare."

  6. He needs a lot of downtime, unfortunately. Our last cruise on Magic was so crowded and loud that he had to take frequent cabin breaks. I had decided that was our last cruise .... but then I got this offer (lol). My other son absolutely LOVES to cruise so he is very excited we are taking this one, although he just turned 18 and can't participate in the kid's club any longer.

I'm hoping with the smaller ship and with the stops in Nassau and Freeport ... we will be staying on the ship ... he will have a good time. He loves the 24/7 ice cream! Last cruise he must have had 8 a day.

I'm taking him to Peru over the summer. He loves the site seeing kinds of things to do and it will be much quieter. We are very much looking forward to that.

Makes sense as Carnival always seems noisy and crowded. We switched to Princess and like you got this irresistible offer. Our only concern is we had to wait for my DH to get leave approval so by the time we could accept we had to get a cabin alk the way in the back, we usually stay near the middle. Hopefully that will be ok.

Well I hope everything goes okay and the experience is good for them. Shows them much outside their normal box.

  7. My son is disabled so I have a placard - I usually don't have an issue with parking but thanks! I'm usually the one that likes to get there early and be first on board. Last cruise we had a separate package with Autism on the Seas and after the bridal parties we were the first people on board.

Those pesky taxes and port fees!

Well I hope you have a great time! How dfoes you son handle all the noise and crowds on Carnival?

  8. OK - yes I do see it now. Low price for inside but at least on my end, not a free one.

Have a great time! I'm sitting at work now after doing the crazy running around and packing last night. Will leave here about 11, pick up my other son and get on the road to Jax by noon to hopefully board no later then 3. I've never boarded that late before, but it's ok. Looking forward to the getaway.

They are saying free because you get your fare back in OBC. The cost is actually taxes and port fees, and of course gratuities and what you spend on board.

Bee careful getting there to late, parking becomes an issue at some ports when you arrive later. Have a great time.

  9. We were on the Caribbean Princess in November and they were just starting to roll out a Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame bar. Did this concept go away? I don't see it on any of the other ships.

We were also there when they started the Rock not Roll Hall of Fame. When we went on The Caribbean Princess in March right before dry dock it was gone like it never existed. We asked a few people but other than it was gone got no real answer.

  10. I have not cruised since 2012, so the check in time is new to me even though i have cruised several times. I am platinum as is my mother. Each of us is booked in a room with a child. Do the check in times apply for platinum as well, or can we pretty much show up anytime? Thanks in advance, repeat question i am sure so thanks again...

You know, despite whether it applies or not, I would suggest you arrive early. We were on a cruise in March with a 2:30 check in time. This was later then we ever had previous checked in but we did follow procedure.

However we were very frustrated because the parking garage was full. We drove up and down every row and it was very frustrating. Finally we saw someone walking into the garage and we asked and she said she was leaving. We literally followed her in our car as she walked and I think the cars behind us were equally frustrated.

Next time we will go early.

  11. We just returned from a western Caribbean cruise. We were left a note in our bed to set clock's back an hour on 2 different nights and on the way back we went forward again. This was on Princess. May vary by cruise line.
