  1. We book our own. The air and hotel credits are rather small.
  2. If R is doing its best and still failing to serve, then perhaps it is time to get out of its over promised, over hyped all inclusive approach ( including excursions, often unavailable or unsatisfactory). This would bring a significant reduction in fares. Seems that folks are garnering extra costs w included items anyway.
  3. Perhaps R would like to clarify and articulate their policy if it has now changed. At minimum, it would save them a lot of effort/ time in rescheduling flights if the passenger is not traveling.
  4. Rc/kc We were on Regent with Voyaget’s fish net issues and anoypther time, when the priates were actice and we had safety drills…..all okay. War seems very different to me. Rockets are still soaring and the situation is very fluid. I am glad that we do not to make any choices here.
  5. Rachel, Every morning you provide a treat with your fabulous photos and the commentary which binds them together. Thank you.
  6. Disembarking Crystal on Noe 13. Seeking pvt car meet/ transfer from ort go airport. Seeking referrals. Thank you.
  7. We sailed Mariner in Med & TA in Aug/Sept ‘23. We booked a handful of months ahead and were shut out of 95% of desired tours. We waitlisted when applicable; not all are. No waitlist cleared and seemingly, no additional capacity was added…so our 95% quite went the other way. I don’t know whether this was bad luck or a reflection of changes in R. I like papaflamingo’s suggestion and will try it for our next booking. We are not willing to bolt out of bed early am, dress, breakfast, etc and then go to the theater to wait IF.
  8. CWN At the risk of sounding like a scratchy record, I really don’t think that Regent is accommodation oriented regarding passengers w mobility issues. Just think about the passenger demographic!
  9. There may be a Beatles show….as well as an ABBA show. These utilize the ‘production staff ‘ and the Regent Orchestra ( which was a quartet!)
  10. I am wondering how tuned in Regent is to passengers’ needs on these tours.
  11. Brescan, Very much appreciated your upbeat review. If a solo passenger wished to dine alone or at another time. E.g. 7:30..are they accommodated?
  12. The port articulates its rules. A cruise line company decides whether the port rules are conducive to their visit/ itinerary. Not crying over Casablanca per se, I was just pointing to the challenges for older citizens or those w. mobility/ medical issues when very long walks and a dearth of shuttles combine.
  13. I started reading this topic without checking the date. It started in 2019… now Sept 2023. No change in the on board requirement. We just completed two segments. VCE-BCN was port intensive, including the last day. Can’t imagine how many responses they rec’d. BCN-NYC was the opposite in tempo but when I signed on rec’d only the housekeeping and butler portions..no restaurant, entertainment, services, etc. suspect that this was not the entire survey.
  14. I actually don’t care about the port fees either…but it’s an interesting approach.
  15. I do not know. Our cruise was also sold as two segments so we saw/ experienced the disembarking for Barcelona. Numbers were called about 8-9 am..but I wasn’t timing them. We were in port/ NYC the night before disembarkation. Ours began a few minutes pre 8am and ended at 9. If you are planning transportation, it might be wise to check w. R.
  16. Clarification…Some passengers used their personal wheelchair..either manually or with an assist through out the cruise. I have no information as to whether R would help them navigate the gangplank. Our request was for WC assistance since husband has mobility issues even with cane and the unknown configuration of the gangplank plus the distance would present a challenge.
  17. I do not expect any compensation for missing a port due to weather..but how can they keep port fees and port taxes?? Regent seems to have a number of policies not shared by other luxury lines.
  18. Hate to discourage you Pcardad but that was all that we were requesting. And my quote is from Marjia of Destination Services. After her, we spoke w Exec Concierge….same response. Also forget pre ‘arranging’ as they told us when you get into the terminal ask the port for assistance. This instruction was given a few days pre disembarkation. Just not our expectation..and not our previous experiences.
  19. Another thought Scout16…Perhaps contact AARP with your idea…at least an enlightening article if not yet a book. Paula
  20. Scout16….Now I better understand your suggestion which certainly would be very comprehensive. And yes, gangway differences exist. Perhaps you could author a book…I bet that it would sell. The tour descriptions noted the amount and degree of strenuousness. Perhaps someone who experienced them could comment on their accuracy. We didn’t take any..been there before, too much walking..and why do tours always need to depart around 8am?!? We did count on shuttles as we enjoy a bit of sightseeing/ wandering coupled w lunch ashore so the shortfall in shuttles was a negative for us. We’re platinum on R and some of our negative experiences on this cruise were new to us and unanticipated.
  21. Scout, Regent offers many details in each tour description, including the amount of walking and under what conditions. Once onboard, any clarification of a tour is found in an updated print out. Destination Services will answer any inquiries. At this point we book few tours but prefer private arrangements or the informality of shuttle service to a central point.
