  1. We had a balcony for a mid-May Mediterranean cruise years back and barely used it. The cruise stopped at a different port every day and while we were underway, the balcony felt too cool and windy to enjoy. I could have saved a little money by selecting a lesser cabin. But, as a rule, we enjoy seeing outside and had a balcony for Alaska, even though it was chilly because there was so much to see and photograph without leaving the cabin.
  2. I have not seen a means of adding a tip electronically for an Ocean Now delivery. Maybe someone could point that out. But, no rush. I always have small bills with me.
  3. Do not, under any circumstances, allow my wife to see this.
  4. How do you handle that? Do you have CS remove your credit card from your account and give them a deposit? Or no deposit and they track you down on the last day? I do try not to leave a credit balance on my account as I disembark. If they charge me something fishy and don’t fix it, I can always dispute it. We had a small credit at the end of our first cruise with Princess and never got a check. I had refundable and nonrefundable OBC and assumed they would consume the nonrefundable first. Either way, I wasn’t chasing 10 bucks.
  5. I don’t do FB, but I looked mine up on LinkedIn and did not see him. We’ve never spoken, I use a TA, but many here do rave about their PVP.
  6. Thanks. I think I will have to keep my iPhone on airplane mode or hard set it to EDT to prevent a time change. Maybe I’ll just buy a watch for one of the kids and put them in charge of time.
  7. I do understand your worry. Sorry to simplify the response. As far as the call center, they are useless. Never called ‘em. Never will. If my TA can’t figure something out, she can call. I don’t know if she calls the same number, but she does seem to get what she needs. Why doesn’t Princess hire and train for success? I don’t think anyone here can answer that question. Surely the executives who run the company are aware of its shortcomings RE: the call center and app. Yet, nothing changes for the better.
  8. Neither one of you will need a QR code. Just bring your medallion and passport.
  9. We have celebrated a birthday and an anniversary. Both times we received a square of cake (I don’t eat dessert). It looked very chocolate-y. I requested the “no singing” section of the MDR so no attempt was made.
  10. We booked with Princess. We traveled to the airport from Whittier. The bus ride was narrated well by the driver. She had a lot to say and point out as we rode. $59 sounds right. Luggage was delivered to a baggage room at the airport. We had to wait our turn - it’s a small room and they only allow a certain number at a time.
  11. We will be there mid-June on Enchanted Princess and have the same questions. We arrive at 7 and depart at 4. I’m not sure what that means in terms of getting off the ship. I know we have to be back at least 30 minutes before the ship departs. Is anyone familiar with Pitaya Beach Club? Looks good on Yelp or TripAdvisor, but you never know. I’m not sure if it’s PAYG or AI. We are a family of 6 and the kids will want to swim. The adults will want shade, a drink and a snack, as will the kids. I am apprehensive of taxis. Will there be any van type taxis that will hold all 6 of us? I do not care to separate. Also, can anyone tell me if I am likely to have a discrepancy between local and ships time?
  12. We are bringing our grandchildren (and their parents) on our next Princess cruise. The children’s program will be new to us. The kids will be 8 and 11. I have read here that registering them upon embarkation is recommended. I know that in order to sign them in and out, I will need to be “approved”. Can my daughter handle this for all of us instead of taking everyone? I know the kids will want to scope it out, but my wife, son-in-law and I would prefer to sit on deck by the pool while she does so. Will that be okay? Does it have to be a parent, or could their grandmother handle registration?
  13. You could complain of nosebleeds.
  14. You will feel younger than ever on a Princess cruise. If you enjoy music, the bars and piazza will feature some excellent musicians that you can listen or dance to with a drink in your hand. None of the ships is equipped with carnival rides or amusement park features. Daytime activities may include games and classes (i.e. tai chi, Zumba). The crowds will thin early and there will be limited venues open and occupied after 10 pm. After cruising with RC and Norwegian, we appreciate the laid back Princess vibe. You may or may not.
  15. Mine directs me to the nearest bar. I think you’re right about the DNA. It didn’t change after disembarkation.
  16. Your best bet on the Princess website is to use the search function. Type “wifi” and it will get you to a page with pricing ($24.99 daily for one device).
  17. I do not see an iOS update yet this month.
  18. I am really looking forward to sailing Caribbean Princess again once she sails out of Port Canaveral. Hopefully early next year as soon as my wife’s softball season ends. We have nothing but good memories. I will admit a bias toward the more “classic” ships in a given line. We sail Enchanted in June and I don’t expect to be swayed.
  19. Loved it. We spend time walking on the promenade deck, taking exercise classes, spend the evenings in bars listening to music, drinking and talking to strangers. Nicest crew I have ever encountered. MDR food was to our taste. Great service. We encountered nothing that didn’t function properly. Every part of the ship was clean and shiny, if occasionally threadbare in places. Whether you will be happy on her depends more on you than the ship.
  20. My hair ran away from home years ago. It’s too late to thank me. We’re no longer on speaking terms.
  21. That was usually followed by me asking “ If Jimmy Smith jumped off a bridge, would you feel you had to.” It’s such a simple calculation to estimate whether the package saves you money. And all the facts are here for the asking on CC.
  22. I was wondering if I had missed it at the IC, since that’s the only 24/7 venue where I might be able to demand my daily lobster regardless of time of day.
