  1. We stayed at Moxie. Great location. Short walk to train station and West Quay mall. 5 minutes taxi ride to pier. However depends what you are looking for in a hotel. No closet...a few hooks on wall. No t.v. No telephone in room. Small but very clean. We stayed 2 nights....would stay again
  2. Our 35 day Australia circumnavigation had 4 ports lost. One to "unable to tender due to high waves" and 3 due to New Zealand requiring the ship be cleaned as per biofouling rules (we weren't going to New Zealand the next cruise was) . we had also found port changes sheet on our bed when we got on board. We also lost all power on the ship for hours one night. What O offered was an announcement from the Captain thanking us for our understanding. What more than 60 couples/singles (all from rollcall) got was $500pp FCC. In spite of it all, this was probably the best cruise I've ever been on. We met so many lovely people
  3. We were in 8048 and got a call that our TV could be heard next door. We purposely had it on low volume so to be sure not to bother anyone.....didn't work.
  4. We did an Argentinian cooking class 9n marina with Chef Stephanie. She was great. Lots of wine. I remember making empenadas....they were good but honestly not as good as mine. Also made dulce de leche ice cream and some other stuff. My Argentinian friend taught me. But we loved the class
  5. In Sydney...we took a wonderful full day excursion with chef led GOURMET GETAWAY TOURS. Superb day. Also a full day tour with Andersonstours.com.au. Excellent.
  6. We flew in Wednesday morning for our Friday cruise. Took National Express Coach to Southampton...on Thursday we took the train to Bath for the day.
  7. Should be Australia ETA 601 visa. And people on cc are saying that they have recently gotten their visas with no medical and are over 75.
  8. We were recently on Vista (cabin 8048)....the only way we could hear the announcements was to open our cabin door. We heard a faint dinging sound and that's the only way we knew there was an announcement outside.
  9. Possum52...question....a Florida newspaper ran an article yesterday stating a New Australian regulation for those over 75 visiting Australia. Article said a mandatory xray and physical by one of their approved doctors (very few around). Have you heard anything about this? It was in The Palm Beach Post, which I think is a Florida newspaper. It read BOYNTON AREA COUPLE'S TRAVEL NIGHTMARE....THANKS TO AUSTRALIA 'S NEW RULE. my guess is the couple appled for the wrong visa and then went crying to the paper.....and the paper didn't bother to check the facts.
  10. I thought the paper had the wrong info. They even interviewed a couple who supposedly wouldn't be able to go on their cruise because of this.

  12. We had a private guide. We had discussed what we wanted to do/see beforehand. Robben Island I ordered tickets directly. You take the boat over to the Island. At that time, the tours were run by former political prisoners.
  13. If you will also be in Israel on Yom Kippur be aware that the entire country shuts down...some restaurants reopened after YK ended, some didn't. Amazing to see people strolling on major roads
  14. We took the National Express Coach from Heathrow to Southampton. We each had a 28 inch suitcase and a backpack
  15. In the Palm Beach Post (Florida)newspaper there is an article that says...The Australian government wants tourists older than 75 to get a visa that requires a chest xray, and a medical examinationfrom one of their certified doctors before entering the country.....supposedly this went into effect July 1st. Looks like this is something new. I haven't seen mention of it anywhere. Anyone familiar with this????
  16. We boarded Vista recently and found a paper in our room from O listing 3 port time changes (cut).
  17. We were just on Vista. Where were the water filling stations? I didn't notice any.
  18. We recently were on Vista. Yes those are the same bottles. > don't care for them
  19. I am also looking at this cruise. Atlas is totally new to me. We always travel Oceania. Honestly for me having maybe 10 sea days with no activities doesn't make up for 3 ports in Azores. We like trivia, guest speakers, needlework and such. As of now I'll hold off booking. Also concerned about the unhappiness customers face with lack of communication from Atlas before cruise.
  20. We were recently on an Oceania Australia cruise. I booked snorkeling at GBR through a company called Great Adventures. Picked that one because check in time wasn't until 9:30. We docked around 8. Easy walk from cruise terminal to check in (leave terminal, turn right., follow walkway about 10 min). They provided everything. Took about 1.5 hrs to get out there. Very rough. Many seasick. Cost half of what the cruiseline charged. Memorable day.
  21. Hubby actually called the London office and a human said nope. The bus does not go from one terminal to another. Worked out fine.
  22. We were just on a 12 day Oceania cruise...at the Dun Laoghaire stop, we walked from tender to the DART train...with my bad knees it took under 10 min. Took the train into city...got a round trup ticket at the vending machine.....about half hour....we walked to the HOHO bus....we had also booked the Guinness Storehouse Tour. Had great excursions in Belfast, Portland, Kirkwall, Liverpool, Holyhead.
  23. Yes ..302 is the one we took. Also you can change bus times but not bus terminal. So when our Tuesday BA flight got cancelled the Saturday before, we rescheduled flight and wound up landing in a different terminal. Had to collect luggage and take it on a subway between terminals to new terminal. John Bull....I know I can always count on you for the correct answer. Thanks
  24. Yes. When we were assigned that cabin, I immediately queried TA and someone at O about possible sounds. Everyone assured me that Vista being new, there would be no Noise from an adjacent cabin. I was very embarrassed to get the call. Tv was on pretty low. Maybe 9pm...btw....right near the mid elevator...no noise at all from hallway
  25. We took the National Express Coach for our recent cruise. Please take the 5 pound option to change bus time if needed. Also note when watching for your bus that the sign on front of bus lists last stop. Southampton is NOT the last stop. Started with an S. Swansea maybe???? Wr almost let our bus go by Not knowing this.
