I'm certainly going to stick it out. Two cruises this year, and two next year, including the long awaited Saga cruise. I have no wish to commit any further ahead than that, especially given some of the bargains that I have seen recently. Even Oceania has looked tempting !

The cases are not weighed, but for the sake of the porters, 23 kg should be the max. And don't forget, you will also have to handle the cases, so you won't want to put your back out !

I imagine your son will be the youngest passenger on board by a couple of decades. As such, any entertainment will not be geared to his age group.

The taxis take credit cards. The fare is going to be less than £10, so I would either round the fare up to the nearest £ (so £8.20 becomes £9) or just add on £1. However, if your driver helps you load and unload you cases, I would probably give £2. If you use a porter at the terminal a £1 tip is probably enough, £2 if you have a lot of luggage, but tipping would be the exception.

Premier Inn is the biggest budget hotel chain in the UK. As a budget brand, you get no fripperies such as room service, safes, porters etc. What you will get is a clean functional room with a double bed, sofa, desk, flat screen tv, and a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. There is an onsite restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner, with a bar open in the evening. We use them all the time - never been disappointed.
