  1. P&O are pretty strict on dress code, especially on formal nights. Jacket and tie as a bare minimum. And no shorts anywhere on the ship after 6pm on any night.
  2. So it shows you should not go by reputation. We have been to the North of Mallorca many times - fantastic area - I can only think that your friends have not travelled very widely when visiting.
  3. I think you're got your islands wrong. Menorca certainly does not have that reputation. I assume you mean Mallorca, but, apart from a couple of resorts, the rest of the island is quiet with very few clubs. By your way of thinking, I should never think of going to Brighton as it has a reputation as being full of drunks and druggies.
  4. The check in agent on our last cruise just wanted to see our passport. She said that using the QR code actually took longer !
  5. To be fair, it very much depends on the geographic location of the ship, so a report is only valid if your cruise is the same as the May 6th cruise.
  6. No different to when cruise cards were used. You check in as normal, the check in staff member walks over to a box containing the Medallions, finds yours, gives it to you, and then you go through security and board the ship.
  7. Yes, definitely, according to Princess, as they want to give deck 7 an Italian "vibe" by having both Italian restaurants onnthe same deck.
  8. You should see the restaurant manager on the first night, and discuss your needs. Normally they will show you the next night's menu, which you can then tweak as required.
  9. Basically yes. But, you can select, via the app, the same time in the same MDR every night, but you may not be at the same table every night.
  10. Draught Guiness - unlikely, given the need for refrigeration etc. In fact, I can't recall any ship serving draught Guinness. But in cans, absolutely. The elephant in the room, of course, is why someone cannot survive for three weeks without a Guiness ?
  11. The downside is that the weather for the last five days or so, is normally pretty awful.
  12. Just stumbled across a TV advert for Ambassador Cruises. Words fail me ! They are obviously looking to attract the Billy Cotton age group, who like lots of lady dancers kicking their legs up in unison. Just awful.
  13. They had a "champagne " waterfall during the W&G night on Sky last month.
  14. Possibly in the US, but on UK and European cruises, they are peak times, and usually full.
  15. But then everyone would want to book on sea days, and not on port days. The current system allows Princess to maximise revenue.
  16. Yes - didn't make myself clear. I was talking about making reservations for the Speciality restaurants.
  17. Good news - confirmation of what the majority on here have been saying all along.
  18. Basically, your reservation is non-refundable. Use it or lose it. However, my understanding is that in inclement weather, when the entire Sanctuary is shut, you will get a refund.
  19. Not sure why you say that. You will still need to make reservations, and you may not get the time or day of your choice.
  20. I know of one TA that offers that sort of discount, but no way would I deal with them - totally unethical company.
  21. I'm thinking that the standard balconies are far too narrow for such an item.
  22. Have a good cruise. Let us know what you make of the refit.
