Every financial advisor that I have read advises that a fee free card should be used, and you should decline the offer to convert. You seem to be suggesting that they are all wrong.

If you choose $, the company handling the card transaction will impose a worse fx rate than your card company. In the scale of things, it might only be a few cents on a €5 purchase - $5.60 rather than $5.50, but over the course of a holiday, if you spend a significant amount, the difference can add up. You also need to use a cc that allows fee free foreign currency transactions.

On the assumption that you haven't booked a coach, you get a taxi or Uber to the bus or train station in the city centre.

Whilst we enjoy the CG, we think that it is now too expensive for the food offered. Both of us do enjoy the Filet Mignon, so in future, we will order that occasionally when eating in the MDR. Still expensive, but only half the price of the full CG meal.

Just because you have booked the same time every night, it does not automatically follow that you will have the same staff. On our recent cruise, we had a standing 8pm reservation, and only had the same staff twice.
