  1. Now you know how us Brits feel on US cruises when only the crispy lengths of fat are available!
  2. Just been updating my health information on the app ready for our cruise from Barcelona on Saturday. It clearly states that for cruises from the UK, there will be no exemptions: - not fully vaccinated = no cruise.
  3. Thanks. Although in my case, Saga just cancelled the whole cruise - I would imagine that those booked on it are all pretty disgruntled at present
  4. An update on the Regal position. It appears that on the day prior to arrival in Athens, all guests are being tested. (Greek government requirement)
  5. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed as well. Given that the cruise is only 3 months away, and had been booked for a long time (I'm celebrating a significant birthday) to be basically be given no incentive to book a future cruise with Saga is not a great way to inspire loyalty. We also had a fcc with Saga, from a covid cancelled cruise. We have now taken the cash for that as well. Looks like we will never get to cruise with Saga, and to be frank, I don't think I care anymore.
  6. Thank you for the update. That seens reasonable When this issue was first raised, it was in connection with items from the Crown menu being served in the MDR. Would the same prices apply ?
  7. Strange response ! Paying $25 for a single item when the entire three course menu costs $30 is irrational.
  8. I didn't realise Saga custoners were so scared !
  9. OK, i understand. It can't be easy going anywhere with ocd, so I admire your determination.
  10. Personally I think Princess are using the term "limited supply" to try and pressurize as many passengers as possible to test prior to arrival at the port.
  11. If you won't let the steward into your cabin, then logically you should also not let the room service staff into your cabin either.
  12. As the full meal in the Crown is only $30, that seems very expensive, and not worth ordering.
  13. In the case of Southampton, you are talking 40 metres !
  14. They would have to be pretty geographically unaware if they were put off by that ! Surely there must be 800 people out there who would be happy to do the cruise ?
  15. We could have done the replacement cruises for the same price - not sure if that is an incentive ! Other than that, no other no other inducement - we took the money !
  16. I wish ! Booked ages ago for our 40th wedding anniversary.
  17. Thanks - off to Barcelona on Friday to join a Princess cruise !
  18. Really gutted. Our September Baltic cruise with Saga has just been cancelled - lack of demand, reading between the lines. We were really looking forward to seeing new places, and not going to SPB was not a problem. Saga have replaced the cruise with a round Britain cruise, followed by seven days to the fjords, but we are not interested. So, what to do ? At this late stage other cruises in September are not cheap - we looked at Azura in September. 14 nights in a decent cabin is almost £3500 each, which is silly money, even if flights are included. Any suggestions welcome !
  19. Just had a phone call from Saga. The above cruise has been cancelled due to lack of demand. We are really sad, as we were looking forward to the itinerary, even without SPB. The cruise is being replaced with a round Britain cruise followed by a 7 day fjords trip. We will be taking neither !
  20. You can't book in advance. I have not heard of anyone not being able to get a test at the port.
  21. On Regal currently the test is done on board the day prior to turn tound day, so no need to disembark to be tested.
  22. Details come from a social media site that I am not allowed to name.
