  1. Sold my car today via an internet site. Chap came round, gave it the once over, bish, bash, bosh, money in my account. 40 minutes from start to finish !
  2. Makes no difference me, I always put £30 worth in !😁
  3. My understanding is that if you are embarking on a Monday, a negative test result on the Friday is acceptable, as long as you fulfill the vaccination requirements.
  4. My understanding is that PP is a fixed pppd price, so it makes no difference when you book it.
  5. No, I never click on strange links. Just common sense.
  6. Hi Vamps, Glad to see you are back. Have you changed your location for some reason ?
  7. Possibly, if it is raining. Strange sort of question !
  8. PDX pre- pandemic, handled 20 million passengers a year. LHR handled 80 million. PDX is a small city airport in comparison.
  9. In my experience, gate announcements 45 minutes or so ahead of time are common in many major international airports. Your experience may differ. I thoroughly concur with your comments about Singapore. And I am not trying to defend LHR - the situation there at times over recent weeks have been abysmal, although things are now slowly improving.
  10. As you know, we were on Regal for 14 days, commencing in Barcelona, ending in Athens. 2,300 pax on the first week, 2,800 on the second (approximately). Americans were in the majority, followed by Canadians, then Brits. Only 3 sea days in the 14 days, so not much time for onboard "fun". The usual evening activities were available. Personally, I had no issues with internet speed, but am only a sporadic user. All those staying onboard for the Athens to Barcelona were tested on the last Friday of the cruise. I have no specific knowledge as to testing for those returning to the US/Canada, but anecdotally I believe testing was not offered
  11. LHR is no different to the likes of JFK, CDG etc. Yes, we would all like to fly from small, "considerate" airports, but in the real world, any airport handling 80 million passengers a year is going to be a totally different experience to a small city airport.
  12. No, it is calked dynamic gate management, and is common in airports throughout the world. One hour is more than sufficient time to get to your gate.
  13. We flew out of LHR (T5) on Friday May 20th at lunchtime . Took 30 minutes from arriving at the terminal to sitting in the departure area. (We had luggage to check in) Arrived back on Saturday afternoon. Again, only 30 minutes from leaving the aircraft to exiting the terminal. You can be unlucky, but LHR seems to be improving. Other UK airports are a diferent kettle of fish altogether!
  14. Just a pity that an aged American closed the show. Plenty of British singers who could have been chosen: Annie Lennox, Florence Welch, Emile Sande etc
  15. Agree - he was very visible, and his announcements were both informative and amusing.
  16. Not really possible to answer, because obviously you can't be in two places at once so as to compare wait times. All I can say is that we never seemed to wait for more than five minutes for any course when dining in cc on Regal over the last two weeks.
  17. To get back to serious issues, you may recall that I wondered what the tiny roasting tin from Lakeland could be used for. And the answer is: stuffing balls ! And please - no comments about their irregular size and rotundity (what a great word that is ! )
