  1. That doesn't change our experience (EN in April). We were able to. Sorry you couldn't.
  2. All of ours we've been able to watch it the morning of before boarding, including just this past April. We literally watched it, got in our car and drove to Baltimore, boarded and went straight to the muster location.
  3. Just talk to the LA. I accidentally threw our D pins out on the cruise we received them but never replaced them. Our D+ pins are on the card they came on in a bin with other cruise junk. We never wear them either.
  4. We had that happen once when the coffee machine in the lounge was broken.
  5. We're on Vision in April and booked it for $43.99 each. We figured at that price, we can try it using most of our OBC. I checked our other cruises and it's over $50 for the ones we have booked into 2025.
  6. If it bothers you, don't read it. Simple fix.
  7. And we've been on 8 since restart and haven't had Covid at all (or Noro ever). We do the same precautions we always have. We wash our hands. I do get a flu shot but I am not getting another Covid shot.
  8. Which does not prevent you from catching it. At most, it makes the symptoms less but if it's like the previous ones, that only lasts a few months at most. You're just as likely to catch something else, such as the flu or Noro. Everyone should always wash their hands regularly and the panic over Covid needs to stop. As for pre-existing conditions, the flu can be just as bad for someone with them.
  9. We've never had to wait for a table. Tables are close together and there are a lot of them.
  10. It doesn't take 1.5 hours. At most an hour or so but it takes time to tie up, etc. We've cruised out of NY before and out of Bayonne and circled around the Statue of Liberty. The Manhattan piers aren't far from Bayonne. We eat at Juniors every time we're in Manhattan, usually for breakfast but we've had other meals there too. But, that said, there are a ton or local diners that have really good food also. We just stop by any place that looks interesting and has an "A" health dept rating and we've had some great food in everything from corner diners to small neighborhood bars.
  11. What's funny is my DH's family all said "we can go into Manhattan anytime we want", but they never did lol.
  12. I'd be willing to bet, most of the NYer's never sightsee in NY. I know my DH's family lived in the Bronx and went years without going into the city. It's like us, we live in the DC metro area and haven't been downtown in years. There are still things we haven't seen in NY and besides going a lot when DH and I were dating to visit his relatives, we've also gone many times to see shows. There are many good restaurants and the city is pretty at night. There are museums, tours, etc and the weather will be good. Just so many options.
  13. My DH wanted to book this cruise but I told him, "September in the Atlantic"? No, high chance of a hurricane and guess what? So, we booked on Jewel Oct 20 and Oct 30 b2b 10 night NE/Canada northbound and 10 night southbound instead. Watching the current weather and Carnival Legend this week I'm glad we did. Greenland was very enticing, but...
  14. They've never worked on any ship we've been on since I think about 2010. I remember the first few years we cruised (Carnival, Princess and Royal) they did work. I also remember reading that they had been disabled because too many complained about announcements in their cabins. As in, they couldn't figure out how to turn them down lol. All those stupid bingo and art auction announcements.
  15. The volume controls in the cabins were deactivated years ago. The only announcements that are piped into the cabins are really important ones-emergency, missing kids/teenagers very occasionally and changes to ports sometimes particularly the day of. Many times when we're in our cabin, we rush to the door and hold it open in order to hear them. Also, don't expect to hear them well in public spaces. Too many people think what they are saying to each other is way more important than what the Captain or CD have to say. They will then complain they didn't know about a port change or the weather/waves because "no one told them".
  16. They generally ask for people who have donated previously. Some people carry cards with their info that have been issued to them.
  17. Oh come on. Like they're going to just evacuate without telling anyone. I've never seen them lower them while underway. Too easy to damage it while moving. You couldn't have been going very fast,
  18. Well, in that situation, no one could say they didn't hear it because they were in their cabin. He was trying to avoid that.
  19. Okay, but as I said, I've never heard of it before. Never said it doesn't happen. We do not cruise out of Galveston but have been to Cozumel about 10 times.
  20. Anytime you're up on the top decks outside, you will encounter this. The horn is for other ships to hear so it has to be loud. It can happen anytime due to ship traffic, entering/leaving port,or poor weather.
  21. We've stayed overnight in Nassau a couple of times and one time in Port Canaveral (ship repair). I've never heard of Cozumel being an overnight before.
  22. They might not announce before boarding. Lee is forecast to stay off the coast until it hits Canada late next week. Bermuda and NE/Canada cruises could be impacted. So, it depends on timing and location.
