  1. I wasn’t booking mine through our cruise. I was trying to book it through Patou Excursions based on a few reviews on here, but I found out about them a little too late.
  2. Same! We leave on Sunday and I'm wondering if I should bother getting them for things such as taxi fares or if we should just stay on the ship. The excursion we were interested in doing on our own is sold out so I'm not really sure if it's worth it.
  3. I'm about to visit this port on a cruise in 2 weeks and just found this thread (albeit very late). Was the EUR1140 per person or for the group?
  4. We just got off of the Odyssey in July and you're in for a great time. The crew was AMAZING and there are so many of them that I want to tell you about, but here's just a few. Make sure to check out Michael in The Club. We became fast friends with him and he's such a warm and likeable guy, plus he's a great musician as well. Then there's German who's part of the wait/bar staff. He'll put a smile on your face no matter what. And last but not least, the guys from the Venture team. Luke, Ryan and Ian were such a pleasure to get to know. They went above and beyond to make sure we were getting the most out of our wildlife experiences, and even though all of the guys on that team are so knowledgeable, those three really made our trip special. Hope you're okay with me being jealous of you right now because you're about to have such a great cruise!
  5. I just back from my very first Seabourn cruise on the Odyssey to Alaska, and I was extremely worried that I wouldn't fit in.at all. I'm very laid back, more middle than upper class, and while I do like to dress up nicely in the evening, during the day I like to be comfortably casual. I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that I had absolutely nothing to be worried about. I met the nicest, most friendly group of passengers and the crew were hands down the best crew I've ever come across on a cruise. We did dress up on formal night, with my BF wearing a tux and me wearing an evening gown, but not everyone was dressed like that. For our dinner at the TK Grill, my BF did not wear a jacket and the hostess even made it a point to tell us it wasn't required when we were making our reservation. Many of the men we saw weren't wearing one either. As for dinner in The Restaurant, most men didn't wear jackets there either. Maybe it was because it was a more relaxed environment being a cruise to Alaska or maybe it's because they just didn't feel like packing them. My BF wore exactly what your husband wears (collared shirt and nice pants) and he fit right in with everyone else. The moral of the story is that I worried for nothing and we had the most amazing time.
  6. Just found this thread and I actually had to take the time to respond. We were on the Odyssey from Vancouver to Juneau, disembarking on July 21st and there was someone on board with a little white dog. I even made a comment to my BF about it because it was my first time on Seabourn and I was a bit shocked. I only saw them a few times during the week, once even off the ship in Haines (the owner was carrying it around), but I never saw the dog with a leash on and it was sitting on the pool loungers whenever I saw it on deck. Wonder if it was the same person.
  7. So excited to follow along since I'll be sailing on the Odyssey in July for my very first Seabourn cruise and my very first time to Alaska! We're flying Alaska Airlines into Seattle and then over to Vancouver since that's where we're heading out of, but we end in Juneau since we're doing the Alaska Inside Passage. I'm guessing your doing the Canadian Inside Passage?
  8. My BF and I, who are in our mid-40's, did three Disney cruises last year by ourselves, and those were honestly some of my favorites to date. My BF has been on over 80 cruises with several different cruise lines, however, I've only done Disney and Royal so I don't have much to compare it with. They do the adult only areas extremely well, and if Disney is a big part of your lives like it is mine, then I highly recommend it. We're actually getting ready to go on another one in August, but this time I'm bringing my 14 year old daughter with us. 😂
  9. This is my very first post after being on these boards for so long. 🙂 I was so happy to find your thread. I'm hopefully sailing on the Odyssey to Alaska in July, and it will be my very first Seabourn cruise. I'm beyond excited and I can't wait to read as much as I can about this ship and your experiences.
