  1. That's why the OP's use of "sofa bed" made me think of the living room.... ...but even if that is the case, a "normal sofa" can be used for sleeping, IMO. TBH, if you throw a twin mattress on the floor, someone could sleep on it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ (I still think that giving someone their own balcony room is better but if all 5 really want to share the suite...)
  2. I'm starting to think that the sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom is the problem. That one sleeps 1 or 2. If NCL removed it completely from the room and replaced it with nothing, the sleeping capacity would be 4.
  3. If that's the case, guest 5 could sleep in the pullman bed that's in the 2nd bedroom. I'm guessing that 2 (master bedroom) +3 (2 in bed, 1 in pullman above) won't work. I'm still trying to figure out how the loss of the sofa bed dropped sleeping capacity from potentially 6 to 4. EDIT Is it the sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom that is the problem? If it is, the sleeping would be 2 in master bedroom, 1 on sofa bed in living room, and 1 on the pullman in 2nd bedroom (total 4). If a basic sofa is put there, guest 5 can sleep on it. If nothing is put there, only 4 could sleep in the suite.
  4. OK. I read it as the OP thinking that the entire group could be able to move to a different/higher (DOS) stateroom. I'm still trying to figure out what the original sleeping arrangements were for 5. If 2 are in the bedroom, 2 are in the 2nd bedroom, and 1 on the sofa, all 5 can fit.
  5. I don't think that those higher staterooms in the Haven sleep 5/6. Also, was it supposed to be 1 person sleeping on the sofa bed or was it 2? That's what I was thinking but we don't know the age/physical condition of the adults.
  6. Probably not....(LINK) PROHIBITED ITEMS LIST Self-balancing hover boards, air wheels, scooters, or Segwayโ€™s
  7. I don't understand that mentality at all. We met a nice couple that was staying in the interior stateroom down the hall from us (RS) and our butler treated them with the same level of respect as she treated us. Whether Owner's Suite or Interior, all YC guests deserve lounge access, restaurant access, pool access, etc. I'm one of the people who is interested in Explora and I agree with your theory (see posts #4 & #8).
  8. I posted another video in another thread that is more recent....
  9. Card registration online is more trouble than it is worth and rarely works. You're better off waiting until you are on the ship. There's no reason to rush on embarkation day so don't waste your time waiting on a long line like others.
  10. I guess my question is.... Did you think that you had to wait until you were onboard to use it since you thought that it was OBC? If I thought that I had OBC, I (like you) would have waited. If I thought that I could use it before or during the cruise, I would have used it before. If you we informed earlier (before you were on the ship) that it had to be used before you were on the ship, you would have used it for those things. Did you end up spending your own money for those things? I just don't see how NCL owes you anything other than the FCC that you still have. If that FCC *poof* disappeared as soon as you left the ship, I would agree with you. The fact that the FCC is still there and that you can use it towards another cruise means that you can use what NCL owes you. As suggested earlier, perhaps requesting an extension is the best option.
  11. Just curious.....why would you want to decide later (onboard) vs. deciding earlier?
  12. An update on Seascape (thanks to Little fox).
  13. There are a lot of cameos in the movie such as Chaka Khan, Steven Spielberg, and John Lee Hooker.
  14. Shout-out to Pee Wee Herman. Jake and Elwood were both in suits. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. From memory, I think that the maximum height is 79" and the maximum weight is 300lbs. but I could be wrong.
  16. (Trying to keep the thread on-topic...) What is the dress code onboard Explora Journeys? We don't have a dress code onboard but we suggest an Elegant Resort Casual style. How many formal nights are on my Journey, and what type of clothing is worn? There are no formal nights. Are children permitted aboard Explora Journeyโ€™s ships? If yes, is there a special rate? We happily welcome our younger guests onboard Explora Journeys. During the usual school and seasonal holidays, we offer a special children's programme for our Little Explorers. As regarding our fares: infants between 6 months and 2 years of age sail for free; children and young adults up to the age of 18 will be eligible for additional savings of up to 50%.
  17. From the earliest marketing materials and videos, children have been included in Explora's vision. MSC might be trying to carve out an interesting niche for well behaved children who are experienced with the Yacht Club/NCL Haven. Even the Yacht Club staff suggested that we take a closer look at Explora. My kids aren't the type to jump on furniture or do cannonballs into the pool so maybe that's why the staff made the suggestion. I'll still wait for reviews before booking.
  18. It did for 2 (?) of the elevators. I used it but even our butler would ignore using the feature when calling for an elevator since "normal" was sometimes faster.
  19. With practice, I became rather proficient on Seaside. ๐Ÿ˜
  20. We are also considering but I won't pull the trigger until I read some reviews from frequent Yacht Club guests....let someone else be the guinea pig, not me. I noticed this immediately. As a family of 4, I don't often look at the price "per person" since that is usually for guests 1&2 while guests 3&4 pay little to nothing in comparison. I look at the totals. I do the same except I compare the total to what a Duplex/Royal/Owner's Suite would be in MSC Yacht Club since that is what we book/price out. On one of the Explora cruises that I'm interested in, even a mid level suite is comparable. There are other factors such as flights vs. driving to port, included gratuities vs added gratuities, etc. The Explora mid-level stateroom would be smaller, though. Celebrity does pretty much the same with their Iconic Suite on EDGE/APEX/BEYOND in The Retreat. The good thing is that a $50,000 7 night cruise can fall to something as low as a $26,000 7 night cruise if you catch the price on the right day. ๐Ÿคช That's the best price that I have seen for an Iconic Suite on the days that I plan on cruising and NCL has been able to get that much for a 3BR Garden Villa for years.
  21. Unpacking/Packing is offered/included for Yacht Club guests....although I've never read a review from someone who had it done.
