  1. Avoiding Windjammer on embarkation day... Café Promenade (sandwiches and light food) Sorrento's Pizza (pizza) Solarium Bistro Buffet Coastal Kitchen (if you are in a Grand Suite or above) Johnny Rockets (fee) Playmakers Bar (bar food - fee) Boardwalk Dog House (hot dogs) Park Café (good light food) El Local Fresh (tacos and burritos)
  2. If you get cash to gamble by charging your room account, there is a 5% fee. So, if you ask a slot machine to deposit $1000 into your slot account as a room charge, you will get a $50 service charge. The casino/cruise line is pay a fee to get money from your credit card at the end of the cruise,,, they are just passing it along to you... with a kicker.
  3. The departure time is fine. But, Orlando is a busy airport and you need to allow at least 1 hour from entering the door to being at your gate. We flew out of Orlando yesterday and the line at security was 30-45 minutes long (that was the time posted on the displays). We have pre-check, so we bypassed most of that. And when you get in line, triple check that it is for your departure gate. Orlando has two sides and it is easy to get distracted by the Mickey Store and Universal Store and get in the wrong like.
  4. Like any modern hotel or cruise ship, if they use an RFID card, it has circuitry throughout the card and punching a hole through the wiring will render it inoperative. BTW: It is not a Sea Pass card, you are not on Royal.
  5. Well, you can't be dragging 4 bags around. If you leave 2, might as well leave 4 with the porters. If Rome is the only embarkation port on your cruise, then your room will not be ready at 1:00. NCL has gone to a single housekeeping service a day and added additional rooms to each cabin steward's roster, so it takes longer to turn around rooms. NCL, RCI, they are all the same. Embarkation day is busy, lots of people in public areas. Lots of people in restaurants. And none of your fellow passengers want to deal with people who are trying to drag bags through crowded areas and crowded elevators.
  6. Elon is a master of marketing. He gave all of the cruise lines a test ship when no one was using the system. At some point, all of that data from all of the ships and land uses has to hit an interface with the real internet on land. Those points will be the bottleneck. And the ability of his system to switch fast enough to get the data to multiple satellites simultaneously will be a bottle neck. And the conditions where there are many ship ls in port on a day and having to back haul to multiple ships from single satellites will be a bottle neck. The system looks wonderful… if you are the only one using it….
  7. I do not know about this specific transfer, but Clapham is a big station and the transfer may involve carrying bags up/down stairs.
  8. Multiple cruise lines do it now. They use the same vendor to run their upgrade programs. https://www.ncl.com/no/en/content/upgrade-advantage-faq
  9. 5000 pts is worth $50 folio credit or a $250 certificate for a future cruise. The “limitation” is that you need to sail within 1 year of date of issuance.
  10. Yes. The casino is open while at anchor at GSC. Tables will open late as people start coming back from the beach.
  11. No The main theater shows are Burn the Floor and SIX. Those can be booked online exactly 21 days to departure. (26 days for top tier latitudes). Guest performer have contracts from a few weeks to a month-ish. So they come and go.
  12. The room is identical. You get a bigger bathroom. A double sink. Full size shower versus the normal transporter tube shower. And a few perks.
  13. Check your perks again. As far as I know, only club balconies get the laundry as a perk.
  14. Yeah. But they have their Coconut Cove all inclusive beach day, ATV off roaring, and zip lining all from that one entertainment area. It’s not bad. But there have been hateful posts on CC about the dirt road ride… even though they warn you about it. We have gone there twice. Last year and last month. We had a great time.
  15. Yup. Summer in Alaska is shorts and t-shirts weather and the pool is busy every day. We sail to Alaska every year.
  16. Choir of Man is a Broadway show and is the most popular show on NCL.
  17. If a “family suite” is a Mx class club balcony room, you get a free bag of laundry. No other “suite” gets free laundry.
  18. If you have it set up as one master account, then the $50 fpr guest 1 and $50 for guest 2 pays for anything on the account. I.e., all transfers.
  19. On the NCL zap, press Room Upgrades and enter your booking number.
  20. There is a sandy part built as part of the port shopping area. There is also a lazy river. All for fee. The beach that they push is about an hour’s drive at least 30 of that over bumpy, unpacked dirt roads. They warn you ahead of time and strap you to the truck so you don’t bounce out.
  21. Teppanyaki and Moderno are good shows for kids. While Cagney’s is the most popular restaurant, it is low on our list. We sail NCL 4 or 5 times a year. For us, the quality of food and service at Cagney’s across the fleet has been in a decline for several years (before and after the pandemic). We have eaten there almost ever cruise because it was one of the “free dinners” for platinum and above. Those rules have changed over the past year, so Cagney’s will be seeing less of the Birds. Yes. Over the years, we have eaten at La Cucina maybe 15 times. NCL has replaced it with other restaurants on new build ship since 2019. If I had only two meals, I would take Teppanyaki and Moderno because of the kids. Our favorite restaurant is the Bistro.
  22. You get a port check in time when you check in online. You need to check in online as soon as it opens if you want an early time.
  23. You are over reacting. You picked a guaranteed room to save a few bucks. You will get your room assignment no later than day of departure.
  24. That splitter appears to be surge protected and is forbidden because it is a fire hazard. The form factor of the splitter may not work on many ships.
