Behind The Scenes Tour can now be booked online
BirdTravels replied to shof515's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
It is actually a better tour than before and includes access to more areas than before. NCL stopped providing passengers access to the Bridge after the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks,,, In part, to prevent "accidental" photos of the bridge providing potential attackers a layout of bridge security. The tours have never included the engine control rooms (we have been in there on private tours in the past). It is better than the free Latitudes tours that include the Galley, Theater, Laundry, and Galley. Ever wonder what it’s like to be the Captain of a cruise ship or how those amazing theater shows we put on every night are orchestrated? If you’re somewhat curious of how a cruise line works, we’ll take you on an exciting behind-the-scenes tour of our crew working areas that you won’t soon forget. Start the journey with a presentation on the history, industry firsts and future of Norwegian Cruise Line and what it means to Cruise Like a Norwegian™. Visit the Main Galley, provisions and preparation areas and see what we’re cooking up for the day. Inside the Engine Control Room, you’ll learn about the technology and engineering that drives our vessels. In our (always busy) main laundry you’ll learn how countless amount of linen, towels and clothing are laundered and folded on every day. Go backstage in the theater and dressing rooms and for the grand finale up to the bridge to see where the ship is steered and controlled from. -
The site is pretty good.

There are many instances where online restaurant reservations are not possible. People sit around, refusing to (*gasp*) talk to a live agent. And they lose the opportunity to get the dates and times they want. ProTip: Call NCL if you can book online.

Hmmmm. we hardly ever watch a bartender pour a drink. We are always getting drinks from waiters. If it bothers you, go have a drink poured at a bar and bring it into the club.

Room service (big order)
BirdTravels replied to CPCruiser4Life's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Room service will take the order It will take as long as it takes to cook. 10 orders of wings can't be cooked in one batch, so it will take multiple batches to cook. If you have 12 people in your family, everyone needs to be able to carry their own food. We had an order for 8 breakfasts on glacier watching day. It showed up in less than 20 minutes. -
This year, the repositioning cruises were from Los Angeles to Seattle. Your cruise will be from Miami visiting a distant port to Seattle. The Passenger Vessel Services Act prevents cruise lines from transporting passengers between different US ports without going to a distant port.

Make some water and dump some poo before starting with passengers in the morning. Repositioning joy ride for non-revenue employees and crew.

Yup. That is what the voucher says. We have sailed twice since the voucher changes, the last time a couple of weeks ago, and they treated them the same. 1 salad, 1 app, 1 entree, 1 desert, 2 sides.

Show up when you want. Many ports are no longer checking times. We have not cruised out of PC since the pandemic, so I don't have first hand knowledge. The worst they can do is keep you waiting for a while outside. I assume that when you did your online check-in, you also booked your Million Dollar Quartet and Burn the Floor shows??? Reservations for those shows also opened 21 days prior to departure (26 days for top tier).

Platinum or above. Check-in opens at 12 midnight eastern time, exactly 21 days prior to departure. Lots of folks hitting "refresh" until check-in button illuminates at midnight.

Everything.. Norwegian Viva/Prima class #2

Making water and dumping poo overboard. -
Wait until morning. That's the way it was for our cruise. Folks on our roll call on the other social media site were kind enough to notify everyone when the system was back up.

Shorts are allowed in all specialty restaurants except Le Bistro, Ocean Blue, Bayamo by Ocean Blue and Palomar.

Haven boarding starts around 11:00. Priority boarding / top tier latitudes 11:15. General boarding 11:30. If you are talking about the time you got when you did online checkin, that is your time to arrive at the terminal. The time you are allowed to enter the terminal. You still need to wait in a [long] line for security and then wait in line for checkin. You can expect to board 30-45 minutes later. We always pick 9;30 so we get through all of the administrative stuff and are ready to board at 11:15.

1. Syd Normans 2. Yes 3. No

Shorts are allowed in all restaurants for all meals except Le Bistro and a second restaurant. The second restaurant is Ocean Blue, Bayamo by Ocean Blue, and Palomar on big ships. On small ships and the Epic, it is the aft main dining room. That being said, most will dress up a bit for dinner.

Two Encore Questions - specialty dinner and ship’s tour
BirdTravels replied to melodyesch's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
This is an example of what reservation availability looked like on one night on the Encore a few weeks ago. Make Sure you have a reservation. (Red = Sold Out). Even restaurants like Lobos and Food Republic were sold out. -
Need advice, cancelled flight by airline NCL not helping!
BirdTravels replied to Liz.m.m's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Do you really think that the minimum wage call center agent really cares? NCL will say "go for it", "you signed a contract and we [NCL] has no obligation to do squat". "You are in breach of contract, not us [NCL]". "And when you lose (and you will), you will be responsible for our [NCL's] legal costs". WRT insurance, like most policies, the Aon trip interruption coverage only covers a few hundred dollars -
Before you spend time thinking about this OBC, everyone will use it to offset the cost of the internet upgrade. Don't think of it as an OBC. Think of it as credit for giving up your free entitlement in favor of the unlimited plan. It is non-refundable (i.e., it can not be "cashed out"). Yes, you can save a few bucks by waiting until Day 2, but very very very few will bother, they upgrade as soon as they embark. We cruise 6-8 times a year and never have and never will game the system and upgrade on Day 2. There is chance of accidentally touching the free minutes. And, with 10's of thousands at an embarkation port, it is sometimes better to use the ship's wifi than fighting the local phone company which is overloaded with passengers facetiming their friends and family from the ship.
