Not to say that we've ever gotten a piece of good prime rib on Princess but it has degraded since the startup for sure. I suppose it has to do with cost of meat lately. If they purchase a lower quality cut the cooks can only do so much to make it presentable. 😉 I know I should have listened to our waiter more closely for his opinion. After all they see people leaving it on their plates many times each cruise. 😄

I agree that the prime rib wasn't the best at all. If they were serving something similar at a land based restaurant they wouldn't be in business very long. Also, the "cowboy steak" was sort of a joke. Not that I expected anything great but the minute steak at the buffet was better. You just have to learn by experience which meals are better.

I can't see Princess ever holding people to an exact arrival time. It would cause so much turmoil at any pier it wouldn't serve any purpose. It's just easier to let people proceed as they arrive no matter what time they've chosen rather than creating another waiting area outside the terminal.

Don't take that assigned arrival time slot to seriously. It's only given out for crowd control and means practically nothing.

We saw hew character hanging around some of the trivia games on the Enchanted. She didn't actually do anything except talk to people before the game.

So Princess introduces a character on all their cruise ships that does nothing except walk around and be a hostess by talking to all the passengers. (presumably to entice them to gamble ?) Obviously they have to pay them a salary which only adds to the cost or doing business. At the same time they eliminate pens, paper, chocolates each night in order to save a few dollars since their still hurting from being shut down from the pandemic. 😂😄

I honestly couldn't find any fault with the medallion app operation on the ship. At times they were a little slow delivering orders but they did find me eventually and that's not a medallion fault. The location of cabin mates worked real good. The door opening process worked OK. Our celebrations were known at out DR table without having to tell them. Getting on or off the ship worked. The only fault that I can see is getting the app installed and working at home which leaves a lot to be desired.😉

I received a call on the ship ( I have WhatsApp) from a friend who has VOIP and doesn't have WhatsApp without any charges. My android phone was always in airplane mode with data turned on. My assumption is that there are no charges since his phone & mine are communicating over Wi-Fi.

I totally agree about it being super fast but wouldn't it also be a quick with either a passport card or full passport?

We used to have an older Android phone that didn't have WIFI calling but now have a Galaxy phone (T-Mobile) that does. On our last cruise we installed the free WhatsApp app before sailing & it worked great without any problems to call each other on the ship & a few call to home. It allows texting, calling and video calls between phones and also has an audible tone to let you know about incoming calls. I also participated in two 2 hour Zoom calls while on the ship using my phone and it didn't drop either time.

I would think it'll be included in the app as soon as they work all the bugs out someday. We always order 2 double drinks at a time and are really not sure which name they bill it to. It get to be a pain having to ask the bartenders each time.

We had a horrible experience with the Emerald many years ago where our room was sweltering. My husband even resorted to sleeping in the Piazza one night. After complaining for days on end they moved us to a mirror image cabin on the other side of the ship and it was identical, without hardly any AC. After 1/2 our cruise they finally found us a cabin that had air conditioning. To this day I read about people getting that same exact cabin having the same problem. It wouldn't be close to cabin E327 or E330 would it???😲

If that's true for all the ships, it's very disappointing. Maybe it only temporary? I wonder how they clean the officer's uniforms?

You've got me. My Florida DL looks like it's an enhanced one. It has a gold star in the upper right hand corner. Issued in 3/10/20. Not that I want or need it.

They must have had complaints. On the Enchanted they added covers on the inside. 😄

I always view the passport card similar to traveling with a birth certificate. If you return on the ship there's no problem but if you can't fly back unless you have a real passport. So why get the card? It's practically worthless when you really need it.

On the Enchanted they were KN95. We got a bunch & donated them all to an on-shore vendor who was happy to get them.

The ship receives their connection via satellite dish while land based places usually get it from their internet providers which have much larger and stationary dishes. We had no problem using the intranet at all. It was always working for ordering and location people on the ship at any time. The WhatsApp app worked flawlessly for calling each other except for the noise on the ship mad it difficult to hear at times.

Plus eating at a table for 2 is always much faster. Eating with others always slows down the whole dinner process unless your with people who think alike.

I don't understand why people don't believe there might be problems due to the location of the ship. We were on the Enchanted for 30 days in the Caribbean and it worked flawlessly every day for telephone calls to land based locations and 2 Zoom meetings, watching YouTube video's and Netflix in our cabin anytime of day or night. If people have to be connected to others at home consistently, maybe a cruise ship isn't the best thing for that.

That's sounds fair enough. If you bought it through the ship it might have been $50 per person.

We haven't taken a Princess tour in years but on our next cruise we have some OB credit to use and I was a little setback to see what the prices are today. Unless it was a specific tour that could only be booked through Princess I would shop around.
