  1. Don’t think so! I read what you said carefully and responded to the facts. Apart from the facts as stated, you also went further and suggested strongly that someone now only had a ‘passing interest’ in P&O. Really?
  2. I honestly don’t know why I bother, but to put the record straight …. Yorkpete stated that he was still going on Britannia in September but that he had cancelled a more expensive cruise on Iona for next March. You then decided that Yorkpete would now only have a ‘passing interest’ in P&O. You then posted, in response to Yorkpete: “I thought you cancelled your P&O cruises”. This of course was not the case, and I suggested that you re-read what Yorkpete had actually posted. He has cancelled ‘a cruise’, singular, not all his cruises, plural.
  3. Regardless of what passengers have to say, remember that according to P&O,, Iona has had a spectacular maiden season!
  4. Thank you - very interesting. I’m looking forward to our September cruise on Iona and it’s good to read positive comments about her. I’m also getting the feeling that Iona isn’t suited to Norway, but hope that our itinerary (which has already been revised since booking) goes ahead as planned!
  5. Have another read. They’ve cancelled one booked for next year, but still going on Britannia in September.
  6. Oh I completely agree, as long as passengers aren’t turned away for using the NHS ones!
  7. Yes, I hope too that they make things clear soon! Why on earth don’t they consider these things before sending out their e-mails?! If people on these boards can quickly spot the ambiguity, why can’t the cruiselines?
  8. Well FangedRose was also on the cruise so can’t be accused of having zero facts’. It does show though that the ships are pretty good at keeping things quiet! I didn’t hear of a single case on Enchanted Princess last month, but there could have been dozens for all I know. I wouldn’t have known of the significance of yellow labels on luggage. I suppose if you’re one of the unfortunate passengers who test positive, you have more an idea of what’s going on, but then again, perhaps not!
  9. That sounds horrendous and I don’t blame you for wanting to change your plans,. What is going on with cruises from Southampton?
  10. I wouldn’t like to strictly define ‘gesture politics’, but without people taking a stand in the past, I wouldn’t have a vote today!
  11. It’s still an important element in the grand scheme of things. These elements are all linked.
  12. It makes a difference to air quality though, which can only be a good thing for people living in areas with poor air quality and the associated health risks.
  13. It wasn’t Brian, it was me! I measure in cms though!
  14. One advantage of a big old farmhouse is that it’s cool inside in summer - then again it’s bleeding cold in winter without heating!
  15. It’s not too hot here apart from the greenhouse! However, quite a few of our neighbours are putting off going to the Royal Welsh Show until Wednesday and Thursday, in particular ones with young children.
  16. According to the email sent by P&O this morning, Iona has had a ‘spectacular maiden season’!
  17. I seem to remember reading about that incident. We tendered wt Monaco with Grand Princess in 2012 and Villefranche with Adventure of the Sea in 2014. They were both lovely places and I would like to revisit!
  18. I’m of a similar age, but all over 50s in Wales will get a booster this autumn.
  19. Do P&O go to Monte Carlo or Villefranche? We tendered to both with Princess and RCI.
  20. I know that it would take forever - it takes ages with Azura or Ventura for instance with far fewer passengers. I just wanted to know whether Iona would be tendering at all in future - the numbers are the same wherever. And the general feeling I get is that Iona and Arvia will be avoiding tender ports - and I well understand the reason for that. But it just reinforces the fact that these mega ships will have fewer possible ports and if that’s the way things are going, then many small tender ports will sadly disappear from the itineraries.
  21. We used the Prenetics for our Princess cruise. It’s supervised over Zoom with a real person at the other end! I would recommend them.
