I’m surprised that no one had mentioned cost. I recently posted in another thread about my memories of my first cruise in 1982. A seven day Caribbean Cruise on Carnival in very small cabin with a tiny porthole and not a single electrical outlet was over $1,200 per person, nearly $4,000 in today’s dollars. A similar cruise in a much more comfortable ocean view cabin today is still easily available for that same $1,250 per person.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to be available in the dining room though. I had also hoped that at least the deserts would be available with meals.

I chose my first Princess cruise for its unique itinerary. The things I found that I think are positives in addition to that were the International cafe with its selection of savory food rather than just pastries, self-service laundry which makes a huge difference on long trips, incredible closet space and remarkably friendly staff.

port everglades embark terminal 21 but disembark terminal 2

You can either of those. I usually park offsite and save the money if I’m going to have to take a shuttle anyway -

I think they may have had them as an additional item. I didn’t have dessert so I’m not certain but I think I saw them on someone’s table

Your travel summary will show the number of formal nights. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the Journey View activities timeline in the app. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise.

There was an additional starter offered on the printed menu in the MDR tonight - Country Pate. I had it and thought it was very good

Back After 20 Years - How Much Has Food Quality Lowered?
Torfamm replied to ricka47's topic in Princess Cruises
Food quality across all lines is not what it was 20 years ago. From my experiences in the last year and a half though, Princess has actually improved since before the pandemic. The difference between them and Celebrity isn’t anywhere near as big as it used to br -

Do we need Medallion to start online check in?
Torfamm replied to SuzieQ521's topic in Princess Cruises
You can start uploading documents, photos, etc right away in the Medallion app. You can also make dinner reservations. You will need to use the app to request that the medallions be shipped to you. If you don’t request shipping they will have them at the port. ((Not everyone wants them shipped) Medallions are usually shipped about 2 weeks before embarkation. Selecting a boarding time is usually available 45 - 30 days ahead of time. -
I’ll be interested to hear your report!

It’s always possible that you can book late and get a low price but it’s also possible that you’ll find higher prices or no availability. For people who can be very flexible, Drop and Go fares can be a terrific deal but if it means booking last minute airfare it can be tough to find that at a bargain price as well.

Without trays there is no easy way to serve yourself everything and carry it to a table at once for many people. I usually put drinks down first, then get food.

I think it is possible in the future. I’m not sure when, but I definitely think it could happen. It wasn’t that long ago that we wouldn’t have been able to imagine going through customs at the end of a cruise using facial recognition instead of showing a passport.

I’m not sure how you came up with the estimate that 5X as many passengers will pick up medallions now that shipping is not free. Are you only considering cruises from ports in the US? What percentage of passengers do you think pick them up now? For passengers who are US residents, what percentage do you think have packages that will include free shipping? For sailings from US ports that may be a pretty significant number
