  1. We will be on her this October. Hopefully, the toilet issues endured by many last summer have been corrected. We invited 7 other couples to join us on this cruise 🤣
  2. We were on the Majestic last June. We sailed around Vancouver island. We didn’t notice any ‘heavy seas.’ Just a lovely sea day🛳
  3. They will probably align with what is currently offered for this season. We are booked for the October 9th cruise. Can’t wait!
  4. When we were unable to debark in Skagway last summer, the Majestic tendered in Haines. Quaint Alaskan town. We did the Steve Kroschel wildlife preserve. Interacted with wildlife, a highlight of our cruise!
  5. Yes, with Liquid Alaska you can canoe close but are not next to glacier. We did it las June. You canoe past Nugget Falls. It was a highlight of the trip, such a unique perspective.
  6. We booked our Mendenhall canoe trip through Alaska Shore Excursions. Wonderful to work with. Liquid Alaska was the operator of the canoe excursion.
  7. Have you thought about a canoe trip at Mendenhall? Gets you closer to the glacier than walking to Nugget falls, plus what a view! Liquid Alaska does these trips.
  8. The Majestic sails to the west of Vancouver island due to her size. If you are doing a land tour of the interior, I recommend doing the land tour first. The southbound sail is nice as you can unwind and relax after the land tour.
  9. Yes, our Kenai Fjords excursion was in Seward. It was a Princess excursion take took us from the Kenai Princess lodge to Seward. It would have been difficult to have gotten their on our own as the lodge is located many miles to Seward. For us, the cruise line's excursion was the way to go as I really wanted to experience the fjords.
  10. Thanks for posting this topic. I didn’t know the answer either.
  11. We chose Princess for their long history in Alaska and their Voyage of the Glaciers cruise included Hubbard and Glacier Bay.
  12. Princess also offered it as an excursion. Worth every penny.
  13. Hotel Metropolitan. Just a couple blocks from Canada place and the Sky Train. Great location and beautiful hotel!
  14. We were unable to dock in Skagway in late June on the Majestic. Went to Haines instead. It is a lovely, very authentic Alaskan town and visited the Steve Kroschel wildlife center. We saw so much wildlife there! Definitely a highlight. Don't forget a stop at Fog cutters bar is you are re-routed to Haines!
  15. Yes, the tour doesn't go all the way, and who knows when it will be repaired? So, I say, bite the bullet and take the Tundra tour anyway. Who knows when/if you will be back? We saw the Big Five of the animals in the park on the abbreviated tour. Imagine how vast the park is if in the 6 hours you only see 1% of Denali. I personally think that what you see will be worth it, who knows what the future holds.
  16. Book private. Alaska Shore Excursions Mendenhall canoe trip. Gets you up close and personal!
  17. First time visitor to Alaska and opted to do the Princess land tour from Fairbanks, Denali, Mt.McKinley to Kenai. Everything was taken care of and no worries about transportation, gas, traffic, etc. That was our choice. We didn't feel 'herded' at all, just went with the flow. Did the Tundra wilderness tour to the stopping point and saw the Big five of animals on that trip. Denali ATV tour also. Hiking in Denali too. Yes, long distances, especially Mt.McKinley to Kenai, but wow, Kenai is so breathtaking. Land tour first then cruise so you can relax after all the bouncing around!
  18. Kenai Fjords tour is a must. Long day, but the sights! So much wildlife, it will take your breath away. For this you come to Alaska.
  19. Ketchikan, right off the boat at one of the stands at the pier!
  20. Sounds like a great itinerary. In Denali check out the Denali ATV tour. Very fun and gets you out into the wild! Alaska shore excursions Mendenhall canoe trip is amazing. Enjoy, Alaska has to be seen to be believed!
  21. To the OP's original question: we did a land tour from Fairbanks to Denali, Mt. McKinley to Kenai. Our first time and because of the distances, I took the easy way and did the Princess land tour. Yes, the lodges with the exception of Denali are remote. However, everything was taken care of and we could just 'coast' without worry until the cruise. There is a lot of construction on the highways and long delays are common, so factor that in. Either way, land tour or DIY, seeing the interior will open your eyes into the incredible frontier that is Alaska.
  22. Can you book an itinerary that includes Hubbard and Glacier bay? We did Princess and saw both. I was blown away by the immenseness of Hubbard and the sound of the caving.
  23. It isn't really a deal breaker as both sides offer views. You could do port going south and starboard going north.
