  1. My guess is it will be the same one they have had for years. Will let you know for sure in November.
  2. One of Iain's top peeves is their liberty with misleading names of dishes. An example is the Guinea Hen - which isn't a Guinea Hen and is probably a Cornish Game Hen - the two have a very different body shape. I kidded him and said at least they still have your Guinea Hen. By the way this is what a guinea foul looks like and is the size of a small chicken and is a Game Bird while a Cornish is not. vs Cornish Hen
  3. Just talk with your waiter and tell them the portion size you would like. They are pleased to accommodate. I often order an Appetizer as a Main Course. My favorite is the Steamed Muscles (starter) and is perfect as a dinner portion side.
  4. I have to agree - Their trout is good and I usually order it was sauce on the side just to taste. Not a fan of the sauce.
  5. Wondering if they were testing the menu on Beyond?
  6. Thanks for posting - I suspect the article is out of date. I took the liberty of looking at the HTML Code and the page was created November 30, 2018. @justpackingmybags post may be the most up to date as it was last updated March of 2023.
  7. Remember that the Move Up is basically an auction. There are many factors that may influence you chance of winning. The logarithm is designed to maximize the revenue to Celebrity. Things that may affect your chances - Some of the things that may affect your success. 1. Someone in a AQ or SS also bidding and their revenue generation is greater than your bid. 2. Availability of Class - Remember that every time a room is upgraded it opens a cabin in the class that was upgraded from. This sets off a chain of upgrades. EG - Royal is filled by a CS, SS is upgraded from a AQ etc 3. According to your CC status you get a bonus % on top of your bid. Classic members get an extra 1% multiplier, Select members get a 2% multiplier, Elite members get a 3% multiplier, Elite Plus members get a 4% multiplier, and Zenith members get a 5% multiplier. This means that for example, you and I bid the same amount. If Elite you would get a 3% multiplier and I as a Zenith would get a 5% - meaning I would win (in a perfect world) Remember that each time a room is award it opens the cabin that was upgraded from. I have bid at the Maximum before and not won. Later I learned that the person that had won was a Ultra High Blue Chip Member and were comped the room. How that works in the equation is unknown
  8. Many of us also feel the concerns. While negativity has been running rampant I think it is important to go with a positive attitude and judge for yourself. For years I have heard the Sky is Falling only to find more things were the same as I had remembered and have never had a bad cruise.
  9. Thanks for you really well written review.
  10. On SIL B3B in April/May they still had the original Daniel B Menu but on the 3rd cruise they pulled the Tangine Chicken (due to supply chain issues). It surprised me to learn that it is pre-made by Daniel B's Kitchen and shipped to them in boiling bags... hmmm....so much for the concept of everything being cooked fresh.

  12. Try - pull down menu under name - Account Settings Signature - Make sure View Signatures is enabled.
  13. Read on "that other site" that Celebrity has released new menus in Luminae. The only hard copy I saw was a breakfast menu but in the App for at least Apex and Edge the new menus are loaded starting today. The Daniel Bouland Signatures have also been changed - Chilled Corn Soup, Duck Leg Confit "Char Siu" and the beloved Rasberry Pistachio Vacherin has been replaced with a Lime and Berry Pavlova. In doing quick search about 30% of the menu was changed to new items -- more fish. One thing of interest is that on the Chic night they now list "COLD WATER" Lobster. For lunch they have added a Cajun Shrimp Po Boy, - of course the Luminae Burger and Lobster Roll were still on the menu (but the menu change did not occur until the second day).
  14. They usually cancel you reservation and you loose your deposit.
  15. Sure - They will have a sale just in time to find that any new bookings don't include gratuities in the "All Included" rate.
  16. Most of the functions of the App work for me prior to the cruise but some are not active until on the ship. Those that are not available until on the ship are Account Balance, Connect to Wifi - Many things like Activities and Menus will not be updated until about a week prior to the cruise. I've noticed when just checking excursion Reservations are not available for my November Cruise but I can already do the Safety Drill.
  17. Usually online checkin begins at 45 days and Documents become available at 30 days. I have experienced delays in documents showing up. When they haven't shown up I called my Agent and he contacted Celebrity on my behalf and e-mailed me the documents with my luggage tags. If they don't show up you can easily just let the porter know and he will put a hand written tag on you bag. May take you 30 seconds longer.
  18. If in a Suite (any Suite) it should be no problem. Most ports have a Retreat Lounge. In Fort Lauderdale they steer you around the crowds and up to a private lounge - very similar to an airport lounge. You sit down and they will have an agent check you in while you are seated. When boarding opens up they will invite Suite guests to board. The only time it is crowded is about 1/2 hour before physical boarding time as the lounge usually is almost filled with those wanting to be first on the ship. 10 minutes later there is no waiting and once checked in you can board. Disembarkation - you go to the Retreat Lounge or designated area at you leisure. When you want to disembark the Concierge will escort you to the exit and your luggage will be waiting for you in a segregated area. You can depart at your leisure any time from when general disembarkation begins (right after walk offs) until about 9:15 am.
  19. My experience has been that the use by date is variable and changes frequently with different promotions. I have seen anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. The last ones I booked in may were valid for 1 year. I asked about the 2 year validly and they said that was a mistake and wouldn't be repeated.
  20. I had been told the same from Guest Relations - but sitting next to the HR Director at a Zenith Lunch I asked her and she is the one that told me she was the one that applied it to their payroll account. I was getting and still get mixed information about cash tips to a waiter in Luminae. On a recent cruise we were especially close with our Waiter and Asst Waiter. When I asked he said that if you tell me it is for me only I put it in this pocket pointing to his right pocket otherwise I put it in the left pocket to be pooled. Right or wrong when I want to give a tip to an individual I want it to go to them and not share. I also give a tip to the dining room via the Maitre'D with instruction for it to go to the pool.
  21. The norm is the 1st Sea Night and the last (not the last day of a cruise). On a 10 day cruise you should have 3 Chic night so other will be in the middle of the cruise. I would guess for your cruise October 14 and October 21 the middle of the cruise not sure.
  22. Better than Corn Nuts - I once broke a tooth on them and have since avoided them.
  23. I've sailed in a Signature Suite and I was concerned as it was carved out of the Sky Lounge. Actually no noise at all from the Sky Lounge. We and other Signature Suites had a problem with Joggers that were going beyond the track and jogging sounds were really loud. A couple complaints were made and they blocked off the gate that joggers were ignoring.
