  1. Interesting, I didn't know this, when did X decide this new protocol? Do you know if it also extends to Royal? People we know that were on the Anthem TA just a couple weeks ago were forced to leave the ship instead of stay on for the following B2B they were supposed to be on even though they were negative at the end of the cruise.
  2. Huh? Did something happen that allows people who are positive to stay on board? Certainly was not the case a few weeks ago.
  3. I completely agree.....not worth taking a chance. That's why we use our phones and a tripod.
  4. We haven't but as long as you are able to angle the Ipad in a way that it can be stable and still for the 15 minutes during the testing you should be fine.
  5. We bought one of these to hold our phones for the EMED tests. Fit in our carry on along with our tests and worked very well.   6. Yes, the airlines accepted it. We uploaded the results to them from the email sent to us with an attachment that had the results.
  7. You can do at on a smart phone, IPAD or desktop. We did it with our phones. You have to download the EMED & NAVICA ap. When you are ready you connect to Emed and follow the prompts from there. It took no more than 20 minutes total, including the 15 waiting time for the test to process. There are several UTube videos showing step by step what to do. I was concerned about how difficult this was to do but it was truly easy-peasy. We bought a pack of 6 tests for $150 from Emed and there are no other charges at all. So $25.00 a piece, pretty low for the peace of mind it provided.
  8. Absolutely the best way. We brought 6 with us on our recent TA. Used 2 before we boarded and 2 more in London before our flight back home. They are SO easy to use. Less stress, no lines, no worries.
  9. Yes, they reimburse you for the days missed in your original room. If it is just you, you will be reimbursed, if your partner/friend/cabinmate also tests positive then too will be reimbursed. That's my understanding. Now whether or not they actually refund $$ or give you FCC is anyone's guess...I've heard/read both ways.
  10. HI- We are excited about getting back to cruising on Celebrity this October. Just wondering if a Luminae waiter named Davud from Turkey is still with Celebrity. He was our waiter back in 2018 on Silhouette and was just a wonderful waiter and we're hoping we will encounter him again sometime. Does anyone know if he is still with Celebrity?
  11. We were also on this cruse and the Norway cruise that followed. We did not get Covid, but know others that did, some posting on the roll call for that cruise about how Royal handled their cases which seemed to be lacking in many ways. We wore our masks pretty much everywhere on the ship. Considered ourselves very lucky to be dining all meals in Coastal Kitchen, which I am sure helped reduce our exposure. There were very few people on the sailing wearing masks, but since I work with one on every day it just wasn't a big deal to wear on the ship. We still saw all the shows we wanted, did everything we planned to do and had a wonderful time. There was a LOT of coughing everywhere and MANY people posting after the cruise on various social media sites that they tested positive in the days after the cruise. Several mentioning that they had started to feel ill before debarking but not testing until they returned home. We brought our self tests and EMED tests with us and were greatly relieved the day the cruise ended that the EMED tests came back negative so we could fly home to Florida the next day. It was a great trip.
