  1. Seeking recommendations for a reef safe sunscreen that doesn't * leave me burned *make me look like Casper's paler sister *refuse to budge off my skin with soap and water *make my acne prone skin get coated in grease/oil It seems like every recommended reef safe sunscreen has ingredients that are NOT reef safe (like SunBum, Coola) or the verified purchaser reviews show people burnt like lobsters/saying they had to use a scratchy kitchen scrub sponge to get it off/complaining that it ruined their clothes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated- We are going to St. Thomas/St. John, St. Martin & Coco Cay.
  2. I paid for leg/underarm/lip & eyebrow waxing before our April cruise and it worked out great. But I just started using SugarDoh and it's supposed to last just as long as waxing. It's a bit of a learning curve but I was able to do my underarms yesterday & it hurt less (IMHO) than regular waxing.
  3. I like getting the $20-$25 roller ball versions of perfume. I keep them in the carboard boxes to make them "travel safe" for the next trip and just use them that way. MAC Turquatic is my hot weather go-to fragrance- very fresh/clean (MAC site says that it's "sea inspired") and perfect for a cruise. I also like Marc Jacob's Daisy Eu So Fresh.
  4. My husband is a former smoker so we are quite aware of any smoke stench. We were on Symphony in April & the smoke smell was strong in the smoking area of the pool (port side) & anywhere near or in the casino (including the MDR entrance near the casino). I don't recall anyone smoking in the solarium or boardwalk. Once we ran into a jerk smoking in the promenade area but he was 3 sheets to the wind and didn't seem to care about ANY rules. I think they should issue old timey brass/glass diving helmets & have anyone who wants to smoke/vape anything be forced to wear that before they inhale.
  5. Correct me if I am wrong- we were on Symphony in April and were told that there was no food at Playmakers. I would've gladly paid for some mozzarella sticks or wings.
  6. Thanks, I was able to book this same tour for our 10/2/22 sailing on Harmony.
  7. That's my new plan- no going to bed with makeup on & waking up with racoon eyes.
  8. Howdy- Silly question of the day from Mrs. Over-planaholic: Can you use a selfie that you took a while ago on your check in? I plan on trying the check in at 12:01am on the night that we are able to check in (meaning the 1st moments of check in day) and I'd rather not snap a selfie with my jammies on & scary hair. Thanks in advance, Your pal Medusa (LOL)
  9. I wholeheartedly agree- the stench from the casino wafted into the main dining room on our recent Symphony of the Seas cruise. I felt bad for the hostesses who had to stand in the strong smoke smell, and I'm super glad that our table was in the back area beyond the noxious vile smell.
  10. I'm hoping to hear some feedback on Royal's excursion to St. John's Island. I'm nervous that we could miss the boat if we went to St. John on our own, but I'm not sure that 4 hours is enough time for this not to be rushed/a bummer. If CruiseTimeTables.com is correct, we will start to dock the ship at noon and set sail at 8pm. The excursion starts at 1:15pm, which is fine by me, but I'm worried that this will be another "crowded bus of annoyance and rum cakes" type of excursions. This is the basic outline from RC: Highlights Scenic Cruise: Set sail from Charlotte Amalie by boat and relish picturesque coastal views en route to neighboring Saint John. National Park: Travel in an open-air vehicle through the island’s sub-tropical forests and semi-arid scrublands, home to 800 plant species. Cruz Bay: Enjoy free time in the quaint seaside town, where you can souvenir shop or admire panoramic harbor vistas. Any feedback?
  11. Agree- and they also seem to singe your hair because you can't adjust the heat or use a cool air button. I call those type of blowdryers the "Fisher-Price Singe& Fry".
  12. We liked having the nightlight in the bathroom on Symphony- Does Harmony have that, too?
  13. Here is what I found- but they don't have the October 2022 schedule posted yet... U.S. Virgin Islands Cruise Ship Schedule (*****)
  14. PS- We aren't snorklers/divers or adventure seekers. We enjoy history and seeing sites/shopping so I am not sure of St. John's is a "must see" as my co-worker said. She basically talked all about snorkeling there.
  15. We've never been there, either. Is St. John's "a must"?
  16. YES!!! The price for our October Harmony cruise is 72.99 per day. Supposedly there is a buy one get one 50% off sale. It's $1021.86 for both of us. Even if I call and get the refreshment package for DH who doesn't drink (but prefers canned sodas), it's still ridiculous pricing.
  17. Yes, lesson learned- and I am using my other card that has a better cash back & better interest. Thanks guys!
  18. I had saved up over 50,000 points and applied them to my upcoming October cruise's fare....Then I learned that they disqualified me for the sale tat could have reduced my fare by $496... I guess they don't want to give tooooo much of a discount.
  19. Hi, we are hoping that it's safe for two semi-geezers (from a small town) to walk to and from the Intercontinental hotel to dining & shopping in the Bayside Market place area? Ideally we were hoping for an early dinner then a bit of lolling at the pool.
