  1. Hi DeepFreeze, wondering about the nightlight you mentioned. That blue entryway light, is it really bright? Like, bring an eye mask bright? Is it automatically/permanently on, or do we have the option to turn it off? Thanks, Ellen
  2. Well I hope you qualify for a free set of dishes or bottle of wine!
  3. We make our occasional donation to the local casinos here in Vegas. They may actually have a better payout than the ships!
  4. Ah hA! Thanks. Pearl must be the bottom. We don't go in there much. No point really 🙂

  6. My boarding pass for next week indicates my, finally, move up to Elite level. But it also has "Pearl" next to that. Is that a reciprocity and with what? I never noticed anything like that before. Hmmm

  8. Agree! I'm sure I still won't make it into just a carry-on, but I'm sure going to try! Could happen if I pack for 6-7 days and use the laundry service twice during a 16-day cruise. Would that be expecting too much or is that ok?
  9. This sounds great. I won't have to pack 32 different outfits. Maybe even a few 'nicer' outfits that are not dryer compatible.
  10. But that all probably just depends on your captains club status. So for a non-member, $39 is a good price. But I'd still keep an eye out for pricing.
  11. Hi. We were on Summit 8/6-8/18. $39 is pretty good. I had purchased pre-cruise bag of laundry for $49 I think. Which the time was a decent price. Then at the beginning of the cruise there was a CC Select perks card that had that bag of laundry for $20! So i ran down to guest services and just cancelled my purchase. Got credit right away. Did my $20 bag about mid cruise. So you just never know I guess. Keep checking for best price pre-cruise (buy/cancel/buy/cancel, etc.) Then just see what is offered on board.
  12. This shouldn't be a ship-specific event. Looks like it is luck of the draw.
  13. I believe so. Applied not long after cruise. Don't remember exactly when.
  14. Yes. (now I can only vouch for Summit) I only had the pizza once, watching my breads, but it was pretty good, not as good obviously as the corner pizza place, but passable. Yes on pasta station also. You can get just sauce or have add-ins. They sauté that up and combine. They have the grill station also. Regular Indian, Asian, panini station, carvery but with only one meat per day, grilled veggies, roasted veggies, mashed and baked potatoes, rice, Mexican, specials of the day,,,very nearly the same as prior to cutback scare. It was good enough that we opted to eat there rather than the MDR, more often than usual, which was a bit of a disappointment. Not terrible, but sometimes soup or salad appy's just doesn't cut it.
  15. The macaroons on Summit were only ever like a lemon/cranberry. But they were really good. And a good option that is not a flour-based cake.
  16. Oh, didn't realize that. But we were on Eclipse in May, opted for go-green, but didn't notice any difference in services. So I guess I'll request it in October for the extra points, for whatever that's worth 🤔
  17. Just off Summit. Concierge stateroom. Did not see any way to choose go-green. We automatically got full deal in the morning, and a lighter servicing in late afternoons. Straighten up and replacements as needed, no vacuuming. No chocolates. Another guest said something about having to ask for them, but we didn't. Our stateroom attendant was great, never conflicted with our comings and goings.
  18. Just off the Summit and there were no for-charge cookies. Al Bacio had its selection of pastries, free cookies, macaroon (yummy), the beloved lemon tart (which I found a little too crumbly, and if you do your own "takeaway", you don't get a fork-messy). But all offerings were still free.
  19. We are just off the Summit, and did not see any vaping signs, nor did we detect any smoking in the casino. Some in the official outdoor areas for the truly hardy. It was most often pretty cold out there!
  20. Hi. We just got off the Summit Greenland 12 night cruise, and in OVC there was an "extravaganza" luncheon. Very cool undersea display made with different foods and actual fish bodies. Carved watermelons, a bunch of additional specialties, chocolate fountain (manned/served--which is a good thing), shrimp (served), etc. Very nice. There was not anything done in the MDR. But I found the food offerings in the OVC were quite often better than the MDR. More variety/more interesting.
  21. Good points to consider. Our insurance policy has been moved so many times because of covid changes that I'm still waiting to see if approved for this 8/6 trip. Thanks.
  22. We will be on our first Regent experience on Grandeur, but imagine the reservation process will be the same. And mdr would not be a burden! Just another first-world problem. That would still be great to enjoy.
