I didn't get travel insurance for coverage of our Alaskan trip because we were going to be primarily in the U.S. and most of this money for the cruise was just carry over from 2020, etc. Now, I regret not getting anything because we are 4 days in Vancouver, BC and if we test positive we will have to quarantine for 10 days. Any insurance for this scenario?

Cheaper to use Uber or taxi in downtown Vancouver

It is too many blocks from the hotel for us to haul the luggage. Yes, we can get a cab...but then why not just be comfortable and do it in the first place. -
It is just whale watching.

Updated vac/testing guidelines are now available

This is how it should be. I'm all for having unvaccinated on cruises....but stop making everyone test. -
Celebrity Pre-cruise testing requirements

I still stand by my statement. The cruise lines cried about how they were treated unfairly and still maintain testing. -
Celebrity Pre-cruise testing requirements
vermonter16 replied to MickeyG's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It will be nice when the cruise lines no longer have a testing requirement. They said they were being treated differently by the CDC than other parts of the travel industry but then keep the same protocols in place essentially. -
I agree, I don't want to give my social if I don't have to - why on earth would that be necessary. So, technically, if I used rapidtestandtrace.com I could test at 8pm Wednesday night and be covered for a Sunday sailing under GMT....unless they put Pacific time on there..not sure I want to take that chance in case they put PST on there....but the test just stresses me out.

When to purchase annual travel insurance
vermonter16 replied to mpk's topic in Cruise/Travel Insurance
We have a trip we are taking in September which is part of a cruise. I just happend to check the flight yesterday and it wound up being cancelled....then got concerned that what if it gets cancelled when we actually go? This trip was booked so long ago and the airfare was not booked with any card that gives benefits...part of the cruise was but that was it. My concern is that I am not covered if something happens with the flight. Of course I did not buy airline insurance. Is there any insurance I could purchase now without a full policy? Would the Chase Sapphire that I used for some of the cruise work for the airline/hotel if we were delayed in arriving? I wouldn't think so but I really don't know. -
I'm a little confused about booking an appointment online. We are from Tennessee but will be traveling to Vancouver, BC and need to test 2 days after we get there. But, when I book a time, do I book it in Eastern Standard time or Pacific time? I haven't purchased any proctor tests yet but I'm wondering if I enter in my state if it will do the local time in Tennessee.

Was considering using them...but I don't know. I am already stressed regarding the test as we will be in Vancouver, BC 2 days prior to testing this coming September....not sure I want to have to sit on the phone another 2 hours while there on vacation.

So, my husband and I are flying into Vancouver, BC for our Alaskan cruise. We will be there 4 days in advance and then board the ship on the 5th day. We have to covid test and I am worried if one of us was to come up positive, we would be stuck in Canada, etc for whatever the quarantine duration is. I was thinking of only insuring the flight there and the hotel there, is that possible? We don't need insurance for the cruise part of the trip because we will be in Alaska and have medical coverage, etc.

I need to order my travel tests and am now a little confused. There used to be tests you could order from the Celebrity webpage....but I am not seeing that now, or not looking had enough. We are traveling from the US to Canada September 7. Our cruise leaves on September 11 so we have to test while we are there. What is the easiest test that I can get that is proctored? Do I have to have an appointment or can I just log in? I am super nervous about testing while in another country. I have some of the free tests from the FDA and just ordered more - not sure how long it will be for shipping.
