  1. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/meet-mingle/main/ I have found it varies, Florida pass the information onto the ship, sometimes you get a reply quickly others the ship does not reply until 2 weeks before sailing.
  2. I think you would need to check the times very carefully, all aboard on the first day is normally 2 hours before which brings you back to 7PM, then you have check-in time at the airport. I can be done but it will depend on flight schedules. You could cut a little bit of time of the trip by taking the Poole ferry if you are happy with taxi costs both sides of the English Channel but of course the ferry is more weather dependant than a flight.
  3. You can take a ferry from Poole to Cherbourg but you have to get to Poole and it will be harder to get transport from Cherbourg to Le Havre so I think I would fly Southampton to Paris then the train down to Le Havre, it will be about 8 hours by plane and train.
  4. For creepy dolls see these from my visit to Chernobyl 😱
  5. I always fill my bottle at breakfast in the MDR, they are forever filling my glass with iced water which goes in my bottle.
  6. I can only comment on NCL as that is the only cruise shares I hold. With NCL, you just send them a copy of you latest statement or a screen shot of your online account to show your holdings. I have done this multiple times without issue to get my shareholder OBC. This is what they ask for: A current brokerage statement (brokerage account number must be blacked out before submitting) showing proof of ownership of at least 100 shares
  7. Another vote from me on iWeb, there is no annual account fee and very reasonable costs for trading. It's £5 for UK trades or 1.5% for international trades. The £100 account opening fee is waved until 31/12/23. Virtually all other companies charge an annual fee to look after your shares so if you are keeping shares long term IWeb (Part of Lloyds) is an ideal choice.
  8. That is the standard rate but you will find it harder to shift with only 11 months left, unless you are covering the PayPal fees. I can buy them all day long with 2+ years on them. I like three years but a minimum of two years for $125.
  9. It's a worldwide issue, on my very first cruise years ago, I turned on roaming as I left Southampton thinking my phone would link to European towers and take advantage of roaming. I woke up the next morning to a huge data bill just from background services and a stream of warning text messages I did not hear as my phone was on auto silent at night. On that first cruise I had no idea the ship had it's own private cell tower. Lesson learnt a long time ago, never attach to the ships tower and keep data off. Although, I do now have a different approach, I leave both data and roaming ON but I go to my providers website and set my monthly out-of-contract spend to zero. This allows me to use my phone on the ship using land based masts until out of range. The moment the ships tower is turned on my supplier cuts my chargeable use but I still get SMS which are free to receive, my phone normally kicks back into service the next morning as we get close to land.
  10. They always sell for half face value (Plus PayPal fees) unless they have a short time left then a little less, there are loads for sale for $125 so you simply wont sell them for a profit. While I cant give link if you search the following you will find. NCL Cruise Next Certificate Buy, Sell, Trade
  11. I agree and as I live in Europe, so close to the EU I will keep it rolling for the sake of 7 Euro, then I know I can travel when I like. Out of interest the UK is also introducing an ETA which they plan to start trials this October but only Qatar, the Gulf Council countries added in February 2024 then worldwide by the end of 2024, they are talking about £10 for 2 years for our ETA
  12. It's only going to be 7 Euro for 3 years.
  13. I have been able to access CC for free while on WiFi without logging in however...... I was not able to post any messages unless I first logged in opened a text box to reply then logged back out, once I had done this I found I could reply multiple times without needing to log back in. For some reason I just found it needed to be logged in for a minute or so at the start of a session to kick start something.
  14. There is a social media page where you can sell them, you will need to search as we cant give you a link here.
  15. We have always been asked to remove glasses for pictures at the port as well.
  16. Is your passport within 10 years? As @hawkeyetlse says if you have a passport with over 10 years which is common in the UK, the EU will not accept the excess over 10 years, this alone may put the kibosh on your plans.
  17. We have actually booked since this old post and after sailing the Star around Ireland earlier this year we found it OK. My concern at not having an observation lounge was not about a place to sit but more to do with crowding, having sailed the Breakaway with the same lack of observation lounge we found it super crowded in other areas especially the Atrium where they host everything, I won't ever sail the Breakaway again, it was awful.
  18. Although the Amex T&Cs say it has to be online, it still goes through if your PCC takes payment over the phone. I have done it that way several times as the website would only allow full payment so I always get my PCC to take the exact amount from each card we hold and leave the balance outstanding. I have discovered since you can make partial payments on the app.
  19. Thank you, good to hear, I have not experienced this on NCL with the exception of a ranger in Glacier Bay Alaska, looking forward to it 🤩
  20. Hi @alanstarr thanks for the review we are doing this trip in January 2024, I was wondering if the Lecturers (Torre, Joe & Liam) you mention were official NCL lectures?
  21. As @hawkeyetlse says a PCC is not a TA, a PCC works for NCL except you have their telephone numbers and email address so you can contact them directly for help with the booking instead of using the all centre.
  22. In my experience a PCC will not handle a booking unless they made the booking (with exception of those booked on a ship), I'm not sure they would take it.
  23. They also do not allow a FCC after final payment if you booked a guarantee.
