  1. Most likely you're booked in a V2 or V1 cabin - neither of which provides specialty restaurant reservations before you embark. You'll be able to do this once you board.
  2. But not if you have a “No foreign exchange fee” credit card.
  3. Yes - you would receive the call the same as if you were home. BTW, my only personal experience is with AT&T as the carrier, but I understand Verizon has the same features. Yes - exactly the same. Similarly, if you get junk calls (like most of us), they'll come through too. What we do is put our phones in "Do Not Disturb" mode so they don't wake us up (I assume Android phones have something like that). When I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I check to see if anyone important called.
  4. That's correct - but be aware it works both ways. Make sure your mom knows the time difference so she doesn't call you when you're sleeping.
  5. To add to Twitchly's response - If your new phone is an Apple iPhone, you should also be able to text both SMS and iMessage.
  6. There’s a great supermarket - Coop Extra - in the Bergen Storsenter (a large modern mall) which is a 1/2 mile walk from your hotel. Apple Maps and Google Maps will show you walking routes.
  7. We kept our original cards and the info for vaccination #5 was written on the back. CVS also sent emails with full details of the vaccinations.
  8. My Amex card (Hilton Honors) does not give the extra points for dining overseas. My Chase Sapphire does give extr points for revel and dining overseas in addition to no transaction fees.
  9. FYI - When announcements were made about availability of the new Covid booster yesterday, I checked CVS and was told they weren’t ready. About an hour ago (1pm), I tried again and was able to make appointments for both us with choices for several times today.
  10. Doesn’t work for anything we’re considering, but we greatly appreciate these posts. Thanks so much!
  11. I had no problem using AT&T’s WiFi calling on my iPhone 11 for SMS texting to friends who use Android phones on Verizon.
  12. We were in Bergen for 5 days in April and we never saw cash - everything was by credit card everywhere - even the drunk we saw getting some food from McDonalds used a credit card. We’ll be on the BIE next spring at which time we’ll be taking the one included Bergen excursion. We plan to use Euros for these tips. We bought a bunch of €s recently for future cruises as the € exchange rate is 1:1 right now.
  13. I totally agree with every detail described here. Our room had a private patio! Just walking to our room from the lobby through the old hallways was a treat.
  14. I believe Ireland is the only country on this itinerary that uses Euros.
  15. Thanks for providing that detail. And thanks for your past posts which taught me to look for ticket numbers 🙂 .
  16. Most likely your flights have been ticketed. Look for ticket numbers in the flight detail.
  17. In the US, if you book within 14 days of disembarkation, each person gets an additional $200 in SBC for a total of $400 per person.
  18. By the same logic, if you complete, let’s say, 50 cruise days over a few cruises in 12 months, will the next past guest discount be more too? Obviously, no I’m both cases.
  19. That’s how we felt when covid interrupted our cruise last April.
  20. We’ll be there in early October. According to our booking document, we dock in Fusina at noon,
  21. We did that too and got the major excursions we wanted.
  22. We took this cruise inApril. Luckily, no rain! Highly recommend.
  23. They vary from airline to airline. Assuming you’re using Viking air, there’s a link on MVJ which gives carry on limits by airline.
  24. I remember after dinner trivia on a Med cruise on the Star in 2018 - we went 2 or 3 times.
