  1. I think this will be what we do, since I am looking for that kind of vibe. We have a healthy budget for this precruise stay, so we would rather spend the time in a location that offers walkability and cafes, shops, etc. Thank you!
  2. This is very helpful, thank you very much. That bike&walk path sounds great!
  3. lol I would be content to walk the beach, being at the ocean lifts my spirits and is my happy place. Which is why cruising is my favorite way to travel. Gimme the ocean! (even if I am just walking along the shore or gazing from my cabin balcony)
  4. This would be in March, when the weather must be at least warmer than what we have here in Michigan 😎. I did look over in the other forum, but it can be hard to gather together the relevant posts to get information. Plus, my bias is always toward the RCI forum, where I unfortunately spend way too much time lurking.
  5. What is your opinion of Santa Monica? It is convenient, has some nice properties and isn’t too far.
  6. i appreciate your feedback and I’ll check out Huntington Beach. It looks very conveniently located to the port, certainly doable.
  7. We could either arrange private transport or rent a car, so not necessary to be in very close proximity to the port. I don’t want to be several hours away, I was looking at Carmel but that looks too far.
  8. We booked a 7-Nt cruise out of LAX, although I believe the RCI cruise terminal is actually in San Pedro, correct? We are interested in arriving a few days early to enjoy the (hopefully) warm weather and (hopefully) beaches. Any recommendations on where to stay within a relatively short car ride from the port? I’m considering Long Beach, but having never been to California, I would appreciate recommendations.
  9. I tend to pack at least a few days in advance. My DH packs the night before. We do our own packing .. and lugging! I use compression cubes and the “roll” method and even bought some for him, but he doesn’t see the need. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  10. I only buy Lands End. They last forever, are modest and comfy, and usually on sale throughout the year.
  11. I do pack comfy clothes, even my “dressy” things. But I’ve done pretty well at maintaining my weight even while cruising, because we don’t use the elevators and we walk everywhere. Plus, I like to sample lots of dishes but don’t feel obligated to finish each. We typically get in at least 18,000 steps a day when cruising.
  12. For thousands of dollars in bookings, you got awesome vacations to amazing locales and relaxing days at sea. I am not at a level to receive blocks, but I have absolutely no desire to receive clunky “stuff” to clutter my life. The reward of travel & memories made are enough for me. I don’t expect any company to pat me on the head for selecting them when needing a service. The C&A program is nice, and I look forward to earning amenities, but crystal blocks hold no interest at all.
  13. We were there last month. You could walk off the ship and head to the free public beach, Junkanoo, or use a cab; it’s about a mile away. Across from the terminal is an open-air market that’s fun to walk through. There’s a Senor Frogs on the way to the beach if you want to grab lunch there. We found Nassau to be clean and safe with friendly & helpful locals.
  14. We have used the Key twice and do find value in it, at the right price. This sounds more like you did not pay attention to the details of what the Key offers so that you could take full advantage. You must have received an email about the program before your sailing, taking the time to read over that would have ensured you knew what to expect.
  15. His guitar, his problem. Let him figure it out. Maybe once he sees the difficulty, he’ll realize the inconvenience of such a silly thing. If his wife shoulders the responsibility of getting it done, he won’t know how silly he’s being.
  16. Just boarded Liberty today. We booked the Cocoa Beach Club as well. We stopped in at Chop’s soon after boarding today and they handled our lunch reservation for tomorrow at Cocoa Beach. Very convenient.
  17. You can email a table request about 2 weeks before your cruise at rcldining@rccl.com. We did that, boarded today and found they had honored our request for a 2 person table along the railing. My husband is also an introvert!
  18. It is elegant and beautiful. You will look gorgeous!
  19. Hmmm interesting! I wonder if you can bring the cooler & beers off the ship to Coco Cay? The description says it’s “perfect for outings,” but does that mean excursions?
  20. Your SeaPass will indicate that you have purchased The Key. We did this on our last cruise since, as others have mentioned, it was on sale at the time for just slightly more than internet only. We enjoyed our Chops lunch and the calmer & slower start to our cruise. I understand that some don’t feel it has value for them, but if you can get it for just a bit above internet only, then for me it is worth it.
  21. We were on Radiance last June for an Alaskan cruise. Our aft balcony was awesome, we saw so much!! Whales, eagles, beautiful scenery and gorgeous sunsets!!
  22. I wondered too, so I found reviews on the RC blog. The reviews don’t look great .. but, I haven’t been there myself. We have a cruise next month with a day in Nassau.
  23. Thank you so much, I appreciate your help. I’m not sure why search results show two different schedules for BOS.
  24. I’m submitting this here because it seems like the relevant thread, although I have posted separately (no replies yet). Brilliance of the Seas was originally scheduled for AUS/NZ in February 2024. We have a 12-nt cruise booked. Now I see that BOS is set to be in the Caribbean at that time. I only see Ovation in AUS/NZ now. Does this mean my cruise is going to be cancelled? Or moved to Ovation? Your insights and experience with this are greatly appreciated.
