  1. We have been there several times the most recent was March 2022. We are going again this April. Can anyone tell me the current drink prices as far as beers? I can remember what we paid last time.
  2. I believe it was 7am might have been a little earlier
  3. Tips I would Recommend for Haven boarding in New Orleans is the Security Line is bad, so either get there early or mid day. Once past Security you have a seperate Line for Haven, and then will be escorted to the Haven Lounge which is a small room with snack and such, along with a concierge that can assist in doing reservations.
  4. I have emailed and usually the first response take about a week, but responses after that were very fast within a day or so.
  5. Yes, Once you pay to upgrade a few days later when you go to the Upgrade advantage page it will show the new class of cabins you now can bid on. for example we booked a Club Balcony for our Joy cruise in April and after final payment simply upgraded to an Aft Facing Haven Suite. Upgrade page changed only allowing us to bid on the 2 bedroom and the DOS.
  6. We are on the joy for the April 8th sailing staying in the aft facing haven suite
  7. We have stayed in the 2 bedroom in the Haven, the forward facing and April we are in the aft haven suite. Honestly we have no issue staying outside the Haven at all. Gives us some excercise as well lol.
  8. I understand where you say that a child should be able to sit, but specialty restaurants charge and a seat taken up to someone not spending money loses money for the cruise line.
  9. So, Again...Sometimes rules are bent by some staff but the Printed rules for Specialty dining rooms are 12 and under, so you should go in with the expectation of paying. As far as allowing a 15 year old to order off a kids menu, if a 15 year old can legally get behind the wheel of a car they should not be able to order off a kids menu.
  10. We are staying in an Aft Haven Suite for our Joy Cruise April 8th, Haven now sold out but price drops for the rest of the cabins. Friend are cruising with us currently have a bid from inside to Balcony....looking good for there bid since the price drop. If anyone hears about April 8th bids being accepted would love to hear
  11. Spend the extra $50 and get a Day bed by the pool! Wife and I have been there with and without teenagers and service always great, food good and never had an issue with any other guests! Honestly wife and I can be the life of the party so maybe we are the loud ones lol
  12. What is your limit? Geographical desires?
  13. I know this Topic is very old but I had the pleasure to work as ACD for several of the Cruise Directors listed. I must Say loved working with Simon, Julie, Colin Kerr, and was Pedro Serras ACD a few times. I worked onboard from 2003 to 2007. On The Sea, star, dawn, crown, dream and the Marco Polo. Was fun reading this old thread brought me back to my younger years
  14. So from my experience from cruising as well as working on cruise ships, bartenders schedules are pretty consistent, but if I drop a $20 and never see that bartender again…it’s only $20 and I’m sure they appreciated it.
  15. Book NCL 2 drinks per card every 5 minutes! No limits lol
  16. So 20 30 minutes is a bit of an exaggeration. Wife and I are typically beer drinkers by the pool and after the first afternoon bartenders would see us walk up and already have the beers ready no matter the line. We do tip. Pretty much drop a $20 on embarkation day at the pool bar and never wait.
  17. I figure it this way, minimum 3 meals a day served by your waitstaff plus your room steward, $20 pep person per day for tips is not a lot. Imagine eating out at restaurants on land 3 meals per day, you’re telling me that you would spend $40 in gratuities combined?
  18. Haven bar is always open in port as well as the pool sundeck and hot tubs
  19. Just remember its about a 8 hour sail from the port of new orleans to international water so the tax will ass up more then sailing out of say port of miami or port everglades.
  20. So Again all up to what your expectations are. I have cruised almost all lines since I was about 10 years old. Carnival in my opinion attracts a younger cliental especially on shorter sailings. My wife and I never cruise for less then 7 days, and are in our early 40s with children that are almost all grown, youngest is 16 turning 17. Wife and I have cruised recently the Dream ad the Glory as well as NCL Breakaway several times and have another booked on the Joy for April. We love to have a great time by the pool, enjoy our drinks and the nightlife, but with that being said, we also do not like the extrmely intoxicated people throwing up in trash cans or even in the hot tubs( seen this several times) Carnival does a lot right, but there entertainment is subpar vs say RCCL and NCL. Last 2 on NCL and our cruise in April we are staying in the HAVEN, and love the ship within a ship which Carnival really doesnt offer. But would we cruise carnival again? Absolutely, but would be on a new ship and at least a 7 day sailing. Also, once you factor in the Drink package if you purchase it NCL comes out cheaper ususally on larger newer ships. RCCL Drink package is very very high
  21. Thanks only bidding on the owners suite as its the only one we want. Thanks for the info
  22. So I have won Upgrades into the Haven before, But this cruise we are already in the Haven, Aft facing Haven suite. Thinking of going for an upgrade to the Owners suite with large Balcony, but it shows sold out. has anyone very actually won a bid upgrade for a category that is showing sold out?
