Seafood Extravaganza question on Ascent

@kwokpot I've always seen them take it back on carts, never throw it directly in garbage can. -
Seafood Extravaganza question on Ascent
Galaxy2004 replied to Ensign Pulver's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Waste is definitely a thing whenever any restaurant is trying to figure out what people want, how much they want, and when they want it. Have to say I didn't see any waste on the seafood buffet on our Dec 10 Ascent cruise - lobster gone, shrimp gone, crawfish gone. Maybe some mussels left. Lines 20 people deep. We saw more than one person with plates stacked with 6-8 small lobster tails. We usually do lunch at the buffet for the variety but we skipped until the madness finally stopped. Been cruising since 2004 (16 on Celebrity) and even with all the midnight buffets I don't recall seeing food attacked the way it was that day🙂. -
Seafood Extravaganza question on Ascent
Galaxy2004 replied to Ensign Pulver's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We had one the last day of 7-day 12/10/23 Ascent cruise. We're headed back on 2/4 so will be interesting to see whether they still do it. It was really kind of mad house that day! -
Just got one asking me about the call I made 8/5/2022. I promise everyone I have no idea what I called about and whether they were able to help me on the first try. I don't cruise as much as others on this board, but I've cruised 3 times since that date.

Using Driver's License and Marriage certificate
Galaxy2004 replied to TXGREG's topic in Celebrity Cruises
You can still cruise, just not get off in Martinique. At least that was true last February on Apex and appears to be true still. -
Using Driver's License and Marriage certificate
Galaxy2004 replied to TXGREG's topic in Celebrity Cruises
BF and I did a cruise last February where we stopped in Martinique. BF did not have a passport. She was allowed to cruise with birth certificate and drivers license. She was told at embarkation that should could not get off in Martinique. They put a reminder note in her cabin the night before Martinique. -
Celebrity used to post how tips would be shared, but this is the most they provide on their site now: https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/gratuity-program

Buying Drink Package with Elite Happy Hour?
Galaxy2004 replied to Sunset329's topic in Celebrity Cruises
For upcoming (Feb 24) Ascent sailing, we called and changed me to non-alcoholic package and DH kept premium alcohol. Both passengers don't have to purchase the same package, but it does require a call to adjust. We're both Elite and thought about sticking with the HH but I'm all about Al Bacio and Red Bull and we both like the convenience of getting something when we want it. Of course, we agree that there is a price at which the convenience math doesn't work. -
When we were on Ascent in December, they had college and pro games on the various screens in Craft Social - Deck 4.

I've found that you can't do a hold on the website if within the final payment period. I've been able to call and get them to do a 48 hr hold before even within the final payment period.

We were on Ascent's December 10 sailing and were always warm and I'm normally cold. I didn't need a cover in any of the main dining venues, the casino, etc. I heard multiple people talk about it being too warm.

Do non-alcoholic drink package prices drop?
Galaxy2004 replied to Baseball fan's topic in Celebrity Cruises
$26.99/10% off is the best per day I've seen recently on the zero proof package. Just purchased the same for an upcoming tip. -
For the ones we've used, it just meant we got whatever offer was being advertised at the time we booked - say 75% off 2nd guest that has been promoted forever - in addition to the OBC. It was nice when Celebrity was offering OBC at the time of booking and you could combine with these and get both OBC offers. Now, the main reason we get the certificates is for the reduced deposits. Plus they are fully refundable if you don't use them. We don't always plan ahead so often we can't use these because there are so many exclusions - exciting deals, etc.

We were on Ascent for the 12/10/23 sailing and had prebooked at a great promo of $44.99/ea - regular then was $65/ea (all in for $107.96 for two). We're booked for the 2/4/24 sailing and it was showing in the app at the same price as yours 2 nights ago but now there are no reservations available. We've done Eden 3 times now and enjoyed it all 3 times, but we never paid what they are asking now and not for sure we would enjoy it as much if we did.

Beverage Package for one person?
Galaxy2004 replied to leisuretraveler223's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Upcoming Ascent sailing and we booked premium for one and zero proof for the other. Called since it can't be done through app or website. Did not ask about forgoing package all together for 2nd guest but was not an issue to get alcohol for one and non for the other. -
Not for sure dinner was done on the magic carpet on our cruise because weather was windy and wet almost every evening.

Just off Ascent this past Sunday and can report on 2 of them. We did dinners in Eden and Rooftop Grill. Was 3rd time doing Eden and it was as good as it was on Apex last year, with service being exceptional. We arrived 30 minutes early and they rushed to clear a window seat so we enjoyed watching the wake as night fell. Filet was perfect and DH said same for the lobster casserole. Rooftop Grill was really good except the steak, which I ordered med-rare, was closer to rare. It was still a great steak. For us, the corn was the star side dish and the pork sliders were the star starters. It was also perfect weather, so that added a lot to the experience. We got lucky and got pre-cruise discounts so would do again for those prices. Not sure about $75 PP that some are reporting as the new price for Eden.
